Plant help

Postby 48Rob » Sat Jan 05, 2013 7:12 pm

I recently got an abandoned plant.
The plant is good, but I'm not sure about the green rootless broccoli looking stuff at the base.
I'm not even really sure it is a plant...
It puffs up if watered, and dries if left alone for a couple days.
I've looked at over 300 houseplant photos trying to identify it, with no luck.
Is it a plant?
Should it be misted daily?
Am I really embarrassed because it is fake?

Tanya says it's an air plant and comes in different colors. It's used as a decorative piece and fill-in. :)

The bottom stuff could be air plant, as Gage says, or some form of moss...? It is hard to say unless seeing and touching it in person. The taller plant may be a Schefflera, a warm climate plant that is grown here as a house plant.

Gage, Tanya, and Sharon,

Thank you.

Could be, but I'm not sure.

I probably didn't offer enough info when I posted...

This plant, or stuff, doesn't appear to have any roots.

Here are some better photos.

Thanks for taking the time to help!
