Weather Stations

Does anyone have a recommendation for a weather station. I'm looking for one that has wireless sensors. There are several out there, but I want one that also makes the weather data is collects available on the internet. In other words I want to install it at my cabin in the mountains and be able to get the data remotely from home.

Davis Instruments - made here in the USA (local to me). Not cheap, but lots of capabilities and quality.

I think that LaCrosse makes one that will connect to a PC, thus to the internet. Also check out Oregon Scientific.

Oregon Scientific is OK- I have one. It's getting old and will soon need replacing. My Step Dad has a Lacrosse unit and I like it much better. I wouldn't buy another Oregon unit for myself as this one has had some issues that I have not been pleased with. 1) The rain gauge is inaccurate and I have tried adjusting several times to no avail. 2) The wind gust reporting frequency is TOO long. It keeps costs down, but the Davis reports wind gusts much more frequently and gives a more accurate representation of what is happening.3) The directions for my unit stink and are incomplete. I even downloaded off of the Oregeon site and they are incomplete there as well.

I will go with the Davis if I can afford it and if not the LaCrosse. FWIW.

The one beef I have with the LaCrosse that I own is that in order to sync all of the wireless sensors, you must put the batteries in the rain gauge, then the temp/humidity sensor and the display unit, within a short time frame. Not a biggie, except the rain sensor/anemometer is mounted about 25 feet off of the ground.
