Does anybody remember Hamm's Beer?

Postby len19070 » Sun Mar 03, 2013 6:53 pm

I remember this stuff from when I was in my 20's and just saw it in my local Beer Distributor. Hadn't seen it in years.

I picked up a case and of course I don't remember the taste....but it ain't bad.

I remember they had some awesome lighted signs.

They had some pretty good advertising campaigns, also. I remember an ad war with Ranier Beer when I was up in Idaho back in '84.

I think it was the show "This is your life" with Ralph Edwards on Sunday evenings that was sponsored by Hamm's Beer. Hamm's the beer refreshing. I loved the commercials and the Bears.

Hamms. The Beer Refreshing, Hamms.

Isn't Hamm's a Washington State brewery ? For some reason that
thought popped up. I vaguely remember it from old AF days over
in the P.I.. I don't really know for sure as I'm from the east coast
side of the continent here.

I get it when I go to Oregon.

It's now owned by Miller/Coors.

It's now sold here in Ohio too.

They still make Hamm's? Someone does I guess. It was not great beer. Well not great as far as being watery and not very tasty. Even as a youngun it was avoided although it was very cheap. Back in those days (60' & 70's) there was not much for tasty beer available as there is now.

Very popular in Minnesota as a local brew and lots of "up at the lake" advertising.

I recall as a kid the lighted signs in bars. Flowing waterfalls, rippling lake scenes all done with motors and glass and stuff. They are very collectable now.

That's a great idea . We could have Americans send us free beer from every state so we can taste it here in Canada .

By the way , here in Canada , WE KNOW GOOD BEER !!! It's made all across the country . .... D.J.

That's a great idea but in the "historical document" (see Galaxy Quest movie and the meaning of "historical document" is TV broadcasts that aliens felt were true not just Hollywood fiction) Strange Brew you Canadians make it a habit to serve perfectly good beer to dogs.

It just wouldn't be right to enable that type of behavior.
