JHC  :? ...am I reading that right...6 inches thick by 5 feet by 12 feet...that is not a "piece of steel"...that is armor plate...for a battleship!!!! Can you even get a U-Haul rated for that much weight...do you know what it actually weighs...

You better check that out. Just going from memory I think that plate would weigh about 15000 pounds. I don't know of any uhal trailer you would want to put that on. If I remember right 1 square foot of 1 inch thick steel weighs about 41 pounds.

Rob, you are right...I looked it up and basically 15,000 pounds is correct or near enough for figuring purposes...

Glass...you had better check very carefully the load capacities of any trailer and truck you use to move that much weight or CRASHBAMBOOM!!!!!

I think I would go west on 18 to 138 to 14 and then north to 58 and on down to Bakersfield through Tehachpi. It'll be quicker than going down 14 to the I-5 and then to Bakersfield via the Grapevine. Coming across 138 you'll also come within a mile of my place. Yea, big deal.

I noticed we spelled U-Haul three different ways. Good job MJ for getting it right the first time! I learn so much from this board. Thanks for the work you guys do in keeping it available to us. Rob
