What happened to the "no call list"???

Postby caseydog » Fri Aug 31, 2007 6:54 pm

I just got another damn sales call. I signed up for the national no-call list that became law a while back.

It worked for a while, but now I get a dozen calls a day, again.

WTF???

Did Bush put a "signing statement" on that law, too? Why am I getting these calls?

Is anyone else here noticing the same thing?

It expires in 5 years. Has it been that long already?
I'm guessing it has...so I'm in process of reregistering. I hate those calls.

The only ones I get these days are from State Troopers, Kiwanis, etc.
No credit card offers or others like that.
We got lots at work untill I put that # on the do not call list.
I've added our cell phones too.

I reregistered, now I'm good until 9/1/2012. :o
When you think of how many that registered, when the registrations expire its probably like a dog walking into a flea infested area. Full attack.
Only takes a couple of minutes to register.

What's the link, I need to re-sign up.

I always tell them to take me off their list. I love the calls to refinance my morgage. I don't have one. I don't rent. And we don't own our house. hubby is a pastor so the house belongs to the church. I actually argued with one person who couldn't believe I didn't have a morgage cause according to her paperwork, I did. :?

Be very wary of the Texas State Trooper's Association. They are a professional telemarketing company that has a long history of complaints, and a dubious record of actual support for troopers.

I hang up on them.

I don't give to any charity until I check them out thouroughly. Too many charities that call are pro-telemarketers that pocket the lion's share of the money, and send a small percentage to the charity itself.

don't know if it has been mentioned before, but many telemarketers go through Canada. You have to put your name on that list also, don't have the # for it. I remember I had to do it by phone, probably has a web site now. This was a loophole they found a while ago, even though they are American companies. put my cell phone on them also

The Troopers Assn always try to guilt you into a donation when you say no. I usually tell them, "Sorry I don't donate money to any telemarketer."
