I don't know if any of you are familiar with "Lake effect snow" or not, but we're getting a ton of it!
:?
The winds come across Lake Michigan from Chicago and dump snow on the west coast of Michigan. A couple of nights ago we had around 8" to 10" and last night we got a foot more.

There is nothing like waking up in the morning and going out to get blowing snow pasteing your face for an hour while you clear the driveway!
  :snow

Oh well at least the boys love it!

Anybody else getting some?

Tim

Tim- Something in your pic code is giving me an authentication block similar to cpanel login. It wants a username and password.
Don't have any idea what it is cause I can't see the pic??
Something about a family area??

edit- OK, now I'm confused, it went away. I have no idea what caused that.

You keep your snow. After the trip to your place we went right out and bought snow tires! :phew:

We did bring the snow with us... as far as Lansing. And a day later, all the way to Lake Orion. But alas, we can't bring the lake with us, so you'll be happy to know you get to keep all your lake effect snow!

The only place I know that is typically worse than you guys, is the folks in Buffalo, NY.

We feel your pain. We're a little TOO familiar with Lake Effect snow! Just took this picture of our bird feeders out the back door.

We are in Northern Michigan about an hour south of the bridge...right on the 45th parallel. Major snow belt. Snow is good for our area though. Brings the snowmobilers north which is essential for our local economy. We're not really snow lovers so we just sit in the house and :guzzle: while we wait for summer. Hope it comes on a weekend this year!

Don't worry, soon your tulips will be blooming!

Yep....

... Heavy Snow Warning in effect from 3 am to 11 PM AST Friday...

The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a Heavy Snow
Warning... which is in effect from 3 am to 11 PM AST Friday. The
Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

Snow will move into the northern Panhandle by early Friday
morning. Snowfall of 8 to 14 inches with locally higher amounts is
likely through late Friday evening... with the heaviest snow likely
around the Icy Strait area.

A warning means that heavy snow is already occurring or imminent.
Heavy snow could pose a threat to life and property.

All travel should be done with extreme caution.

Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or your favorite local
weather news source for updates on this winter storm.

This statement will be updated by 11 PM AST tonight or
sooner if conditions warrant

200 inches last year...makes for good snowshoeing to the local Quicky-Mart for a tube of Icy Hot for those shoveling aches!!!!

Hey Sonar37,

When you where in Holland? I didn't notice.

Flowers coming up early, this year. About one month as you take the same time last year. So, this picture will be soon a normal view. I like it.
I wish it never was wintertime. This year no snow, like last year. When we want snow, we go to Switserland or Austria.

When I saw the title.... we're getting dumped on,
I was thinking so are we this week, but not snow ....rain  & we need it.

Actually for around here, it is pretty cold as we got snow in the lower elevations of the mountains, not that it will last.

Sorry, I don't have any concept of your kind of weather as I've lived most of my life in Southern California.
Martha ;)

I spent a bit of time in Holland last night on the internet when I was looking for the picture for Tim. Sometimes pictures of warm weather, flowers, camping, etc are the only things that get us through these long gloomy dark days of winter. That's one reason we love the forum so much, it reminds us that there are better times a'comin'.
