Limbaugh Nailed This One

Incredible, unforgivable and shameful. Read Below

Love him or loathe him, he nailed this one right on the head..........

I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in Uniform are profound No one is really talking about it either, because you just don't criticize anything having to do with September 11. Well, I can't let the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this country. If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million.
If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable.

Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. And there's a payment of $211 per month for each child under 18. When the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt.

Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of $1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining that it's not enough Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and they and their families know the dangers. (Actually, soldiers are put in harms way by politicians and commanding officers.)

We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the Oklahoma City bombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the September 11 families are getting. In addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation as well.

You see where this is going, don't you? Folks, this is part and parcel of over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country. It's just really sad. Every time a pay raise comes up for the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise. Now the green machine is in combat in the Middle East while their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing . Make sense?

However, our own US Congress voted themselves a raise. Many of you don't know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. And most are now equal to being millionaires plus. They do not receive Social Security on retirement because they didn't have to pay into the system. If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who placed them in harm's way receives a pension of $15,000 per month.

I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and daughters who are now fighting .

Johnny

I Can't stand Limbaugh but he is right on this point. I have said for years that there is something wrong with America when a lot of our Soldier's families are forced to go to the food bank just to have some thing to eat.

This is truely sad.

Yeah, Johnny....I can't stand Limbaugh, either, but this article actually shows some degree of common sense, I wonder who wrote it for him?

Now, now, don't get your panties in a twist. Your Congress represents you and thinks for you, and makes laws for you so you can live comfortably, takes your money and spends it wisely.

Soldiers only risk their lives and it is after all a J.O.B. with the G.O.V. why should it pay a living wage. Oh yeah and we know they have to pay for toilet paper but so do we. Our Congress, however, has much more stuff to wipe so they should get theirs for free. Might wanna give Rush some for free too.

As for Rush---send in the Femenazis.
This is not an original idea he has written.

btw--the above is intended as sarcasm and reflects my real attitude towards folks who get rich pretending to represent the right/left/middle and making us all look bad in the doing, talk show hosts included.

I had to listen to his show for over five years at work. At the time most of his "facts" seemed to come from the same place on which the toilet paper was being used. He has a good gig going, because he states pretty much whatever his audience wants to hear. I'm not a political animal, but it is obvious that if you have a career bashing the President you will always have a "rabid" audience, regardless of which party is in power.

Please don't ever say, "Ditto's" within range of my hearing. Too much like a flock of sheep following the shepherd.

dguff,

I don't know if you ment your question to be sarcasim or not, but I was just wondering how many years did you serve, if any? Because if you had spent any amount of time with a service member, you'd find out just how much intestinal fortitude it takes to step up and serve your country. Talking from experience, we don't do it for the money, but because we feel having the freedom we enjoy doesn't come free.

I normally avoid political discussions like the plague, but when my brother in law was entering Bagdad, my sister, with 2 kids and one on the way, had to survive on food stamps, family, and nieghbors. There is something wrong about that.

I did for a while, just to give him a fair chance. He's a blowhard who appeals to the worst in people.

He's made tens of millions of dollars telling people, "Why think -- just listen to me." I will admit that he has a real talent for herding human sheep, but I don't care to be one of those sheep.

If you want life in a democracy to be easy -- listen to guys like Rush, and think with your gut. If you want life in a democracy to work, you have to do some hard work. Research, discussion, and a lot of thinking (with your brain).

Our President requires his staff to sum up reports in two pages or less for him to consider. He likes things to be easy. Maybe that's why so many Rush Limbaugh fans like Dubya. He's one of them.

CD

NOTE: I don't listen to left wing versions of Rush Limbaugh, either.

The CEO of Halliburton is eating pretty well. The CEO of Blackwater seems to be gaining a few pounds, too.

Yes, yes, the troops are underpaid, but Bush's donors (and Dick's former employer) are making big money.

As Dick Cheney himself put it, "they volunteered." He should know, he managed to stay out of military service while there was a draft going on. But, brilliant minds like his should not be wasted in combat -- somebody has to stay here and start the wars.

Rush nailed it pretty good..but then, I think he is right 98.8 % of the time.

Yup! Halliburton & Blackwater CEOs do OK ..but at least they produce a REAL product or service..

The biggest scam to come along in recent years is..marketing "carbon credits". Especially if the same nebulous "carbon credits" are sold to several different, guilt ridden, suc...er..ah..buyers ! :R

global warming..an answer to a problem that doesn't exist !
Of course; now that such a theory is starting to unravel, note how the "chicken littles" are starting to morph the "global warming" slogan to ..
"climate change"...

Oh yes; and the prez "only served in the NG"..I do recall that during the 2004 campaign it was made abundantly clear that the only candidate qualified for the job, HAD to be a combat veteran ! So I know there are a lot of folks that will be changing politics, so they can vote for the only combat veteran in the race.
We haven't yet recieved any summary of Barak Hussein Obama's or Hillary Clinton's military combat experience...other than dodging some sniper fire..

BTW: Mandy..that stuff about the "food bank"..not so, at least not for the last ten years or so..
