Everyone has their issues and complaints about any vehicle company...I had good and bad Fords....my 1995 F150 with the 300 straight 6 only ever needed gas and oil for over a 100,000 miles before I traded it for my 1997 Dodge 1500...never had a problem with that one either...I had my 2000 Dodge 1500 that needed 2 transmissions before 35,000....current Ford Excursion V10 other than being a little thirsty is doing a fine job at 85,000....had a couple of brake issues, but good mechanics got it all worked out. I am not brand specific at all...come look in my garage...they all can cause you problems and all cost too much now a days.

My next one will probally be a Toyota Tundra if I buy new...just because I have done a little research...but if I buy used I get what ever is the best deal that fits my needs. If you take care of it it will last.

 Elmer you got it right on the money! I don't see buying a new truck to use once or twice a month, or even once a week. Besides this was cheap enough to afford to fix any quirks it comes up with.

Tony  My trailer should come in under 1500#. I made it light and have about 860# in wood, and another 20# in glue and varnish stuff. That is if I didn't forget something............

Expounding: Ford 160,000 miles- 13 transmissions, 2 motors, 2 starters, battery exploded, broken shift collar and on and on.
Dodge- 193,000 miles 2 water pumps, 1 power steering pump
Toyota- 78,000 miles rolled at 75 miles an hour on I-95 (rain) got out of truck completely unhurt and truck started! and ran when turned upright, sheet metal and glass damaged only.

all the rest copy ford technology, coming from a ford factory trained mechanic. Something japanese stole early on. Good luck with your ford truck, beats a toyota rust bucket hands down. :R This should kill the thread or fire it up

Don't take this personally but you couldn't give me a ford baesd on the only one I'll ever own, of the 3 Toyotas I've owned all were great vehicles and I believe the last one saved my life it was so well built. And the Dodge I currently have has taken an amazing amount of punishment and is still running.I am extremely hard on all my vehicles and flaws are quickly brought out.

95 Mazda (AKA Ford Ranger)150 thou miles and still kicking. I just put in new sparkplugs for the first time last month   All that extra power broke the timing belt 3 days later. Didn't know nuting about no stinking timing belt. Fartknocker cost me $400 bucks. I had just spent $400 on tires too.

It cranks, it runs, the radio works, its paid for and it only costs me about $60 bucks a month for upkeep and insurance. Not including gas though 19mpg  OH, and I have to charge the A/C every 3 weeks. ah, but only in the summer... :D

1992 Ford F250 diesel with 305,000 miles. Original engine!
Not my mileage--bought it with 302,000 miles on the odometer.

Traded in a 2000 Expedition for a 2004 F150. Guess I'm a Ford man. But I also have a 1968 International truck. If I were retired, I guess that would make me an International man of leisure.

Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.
