Relaxing Around the T&TT Family Campfire

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

good morning everyone.. :D

we had a great day yesterday.. although I did not feel good. head and stomach is "off". My head sort of had the migrainey buzz.. :o It varied in intensity.. but I could still semi function.

We went for a 25 mile bike ride in their area.. nice roads.. and good to see some of the area where Judy grew up. and stopped to visit her parents.

We did of course get to play in the water. They are hardcore water skiers. There is a slalom course set up out on the lake.. and they cruise it.

Going only once a year.. I stay on the wake board. The past few years... I go two up with their "handicapped" son. We push and play.. he had learned to splash me by leaning hard with his board.. so that it feels like he is hitting me with a fire hose. He was not there this year :(

So his dad and I got to play.. We try to knock each other off.. He pushes me.. grabs my rope.. I reach down and grab his board.. and YANK..

That works..

I am still feeling fairly crappy this morning.. I hope to get some work done here.. then we have a group mountain bike ride at 1:00

They are calling for low 80's here today. Gonna hike after work.

Nice!

Our overnight camping trip was a success. We ate well and had a nice time, although I didn't sleep too well 'cause I forgot a good pillow and was too lazy, apparently, to roll up some clothing to a suitable size...

:scratchthinking:

I was gone all day...

although for the most part it has been kind a slow most days..

Nice photo's.. and it sounds like a nice camping trip..

I have been trying to place the old decks back.. they were where the sun room is.. so not there but their place is in front of the sunroom now. They are kind of rough looking.. :(

I am hoping some clean up and stain.. will make it look ok..

I had debated building again from scratch... but reusing these will save me some time and money at the moment.

I will still have a roughly 10' by 8' one to build.

The old deck set up.. was 2 12' x 8' decks on either end. with a 4' x ? maybe 16' connecting deck.. the "missing" spot in the middle was a garden area.

The new will be a continuous 34' x 8' This will give me some space between my lawn.. and all that glass... :D :worship: and an outside place to work out.

I may also make an area next out from the deck.. I place for some big step ups. some plyo boxes.. that type of thing. I may cover the area in bark mulch..

Moving complete 8' x 12' decks.. ia an interesting exercise... :D

They are pretty much in place now.. :D I have some walls to take off from one of them.. I guess that is next.. :D

We are back... :D

We did an about 3 hour mountain bike ride...

actually we did our ride..6 of us.. and 3 of us decided to go back out and ride some more... :D

Much of these trails.. are very tight and twisty.. and lumpy..and undulating. It is really a handful on a 29er..

The last section.. Laurie had taken an easier way back.. and Brian and I hammered back.. and it was a real handful manhandling that bike around... :o

I need to try 3 of my other bikes.. to compare. It will let me know about these 29ers better.. and to see how much of the difficulties is the bike.. or me.
