Explorer Problem..

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Firefox for several years now also. I'd never go back to IE, mine is updated to 7 and it still sucks.
There is also something built into it that it don't even like to search for Firefox. When I first reloaded my computer last time I had to go to Google to download Firefox because IE wouldn't let me do it. Weird I know but I've had it happen on 2 different occasions.
If I type Firefox into IE's search bar it goes directly to the Firefox.ink file and won't even go to the web.

I down loaded Firefox a few days ago and immediatly noticed an improvement in speed...go figure. Tonight when my hard drive "clicked"....it's on it's way out, have to replace it real soon, it froze and I had to do a reboot. When I clicked on Firefox it told me that it had closed unexpectantly and would I like to continue where I left off?? Yes I would and it came back up with all my tabs open and exactly where I left off.......IE NEVERE did that!! This program is GREAT!!! So how do I delete Internet Explorer??? I don't even want to give it hard drive space......

John... Firefox is really cool... In case you haven't found this out yet... You can save your favorite tabs to automaticly open real quickly anytime too. Just click on: Tools/Options/Main/Use Current Pages It makes it really easy to change windows to open automaticly. I also like the "PC INpact Black" theme you can download... It's high contrast and sort of a warm gray that is super easy to read.

Just some more poop from another happy Firefox user.

PS: I just leave IE lurking on the HD... never know, it may come in handy someday... but, it hasn't in about 2 years now.

The easiest solution is buy a mac. I know all the PC people hate hearing that, but it just works. Yes, you can use Firefox on a mac if you choose, although the browser that comes with the Mac OS works so you don't need to.

Yeah Yeah Yeah Mac Mac blah blah blah.....I was wondering how long before somebody said that. Buying a mac doesn't solve all your computer problems.

Unfortunately, you don't. M$ has incorporated IE as a part of Windows in such a way that it is extremely difficult to remove.

Occasionally, you will need IE to render a page correctly (or at all), as some misguided web sites actually check for the browser you are using. I still don't use IE for those sites. There is a plugin for Firefox called IE Tab that you can use for those web pages. It's really cool. If you go to a web site like that, just click in the lower right hand corner of Firefox and it switchs from using the Firefox rendering engine to the IE rendering engine. Click again and it switches back. You can even save the URL as one that needs the IE engine, so when you go back to the page, Firefox will switch automatically.

Firefox plugins are great. Everyone should browse around in the plugins site.

Ya know I just installed that theme to check it out and it's really cool but it kinda pisses me off.
If you write your site and include a color change for scrollbars FF won't render them in any but the normal colors. IE will show whatever colors you set for the scrollbars. It's kinda rude that they will give you a theme with colored scrollbars but it won't show your scrollbars on your site in your colors.
