What a great lunch! And I got to learn something important.
Doc spoke about "one second he was there and then in ten minutes Vietnam was suddenly behind him, blurred memories, no photos to keep it fresh, addresses and names seemingly lost forever.
I had never thought about that since I never got medevaced in two tours.
He could not remember many names and I am the first to find him and actually talk to him (that he remembers). We had a fabulous time, laughed a whole lot, especially about certain behavior we really never told our kids about. (It was the sixties there too.)
Kerry, Doc never worked for Hughes. He has been in the medical tech field ever since college. A funny small world, he went to UC Santa Cruz, my son is there now. His daughter went to UC Santa Barbara, mine is there now.
I was so excited I could not remember where I put my camera. (No shock to anyone on this board who has spent ime with me) However, Doc really loved the teardrops and what you all had done. He got the idea right off.
