Just a wild guess, but I don't think a TD would fare well during a hurricane -- unless you tow it to Nebraska or Idaho.

CD :D

I believe Ira would disagree with you on that one. ;)

Miriam remembers!

The only thing that happened to mine during Wilma was that the tongue jack swung back and the tongue was sitting on the ground, but it didn't move an inch. Woody took some damage to one of his--one under construction, I believe.

He and I got the same full hurricane, more or less, but mine is stored outside in a boatyard right next to a dump/landfill with a huge hill/bern, so maybe that helped a little in breaking the force of the winds. (Woody will know whhere I'm talking about--the WM dump on Powerline Road north of Sample.)

But some boats in the boatyard were blown all across the yard, while my Crab wasn't. I did, however, choke the wheels with long 4 by 4s fore and aft, and roped them together so they wouldn't go anywhere.

Oh yeah? But did you stay in your TD? Huh? Bet ya' didn't.

It's pretty easy to tie down the old camper and drive to Atlanta till the storm passes. Next hurricane, let's see you camp out in the wooden wonder for the duration. I dare you! Double dare, even.

Well your right about not staying in them during the storm. Actually I was surprised that they were still around after the storm at all. However they did serve me well afterwards. We used them the first night and I let my nieghbors use them to sleep in since we were out of power for about 4 weeks. So they did serve me well after fact. My neighbor and her kids really appreciated the A/C at night so they could sleep. And the older couple used it for the samething to sleep in until they got gernerator power up and running

Hah!!!

But in a hurricane, you wouldn't want to be in a huge RV either.

I would take you up on your challenge, but my city would give me a ticket for parking it in the driveway.
