I agree with Arne...

I was in the hospital for 8 days and when I got back online...there were hundreds of posts...It took forever to go through all of them.

I wanted to make a comment also about the ambiguity of some of the posts. If memberd were more clear about what there post pertains to...it would be considerate of the members to be specific in order that we can utilize our time on here to address issues that are of interest.

Where to place your post....

Build Progress - how about in member designs instead of some in General discussion, some in contruction techniques (unless it relates to a technique) some in member designs, some in traditional designs.... Or maybe... the admins can create a build progress section. Make one thread for your build progress along the lines of Steve's puffin. Title it something like "my trailer build and improvements". We might get longer threads, but a little easier to look thru.

Just my nickel.

I have to agree how Steve did his post on the Puffin, if you wanted to know anything about his trailer you go to one place. Easy to find.

The problem with this is it is harder for people with dial ups. Some can pull a couple of pictures up and not wait too long. For the longer threads it is almost impossible. If it ain't broke why tamper with it.

Miriam,
I'm pretty certain that it won't take any longer to open a topic with 27 pages or with one page, Dial up DSL or cable. It will only take longer if you try to scroll through all the pages. Your browser will only load one page at a time, not all the pages in a topic. If you have to search around to find what topic you want to open, that will take even longer on dial up. The time it takes to load up will be dependent on how many pictures are posted.

I know if I want to see Miriam's progress where to look. That topic is 11 pages long. Test it for yourself, does it take longer to open this topic or one that is only a single page. If I want to find out about Doug's Rocketear progress, I have to hunt around for a number of different posts.

I understand what your saying but when I had dial up my thread was a pain. Can't explain it but it was.

The Rocketear has pictures of the different stages and it is easy to find if you scroll down for Doug's name. ;)

I put pictures on other threads if I have asked a question and finished that part because it is easier for those watching for the information to find and to access without searching through 11 pages. Who would have thought. ;)

The other problem with one single thread for a build, it may depend on the build, but from what I found is that if I made a new post I got more responses.
If I take the trouble to post pictures & write about what we are doing, it is nice to have some response. If one starts a new post it is more obvious that something new was written. It may not be true for everyone, but for me I find it helps having to positive feed back & encouragement as I work on the TD. Also if there are any questions, it is nice to have answers.
For that reason, I didn't stick to a single thread. So for people who don't use only one thread, & if you want to follow it, like Miriam said watch for their name or do a search with their name.

geez, I went to Lake George (with t/d in tow, camping at a motorcycle rally), and my thread got hijacked already/g/?????

Anyway, it was on my mind... also, when I get real specific, like about the lexan windows, I get better feedback than if I just said "what do you think about this", which would probably get skipped by busy folks who actually knew something about lexan windows....

Now, I'm going out to supper, so I expect when I get back, there will probably be a couple of dutch oven notes to read/g/.....

See ya later............................

Sorry Mark...I put up pics when I am finished with a certain stage or trying to demonstrate something...If I put them into 1 continous thread, that means someone is going to have to scroll through all the idle chit/chat and hijacks that may happen, the topic is totally lost and may change as progress continues...another idea is just go to that persons album for the latest pics, unless they are posted off the forum...all of mine are posted in my album...Doug
