women talk more than men

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Postby Ira » Fri Jul 06, 2007 1:44 pm

I picked up my wife from work this morning, and she's going on and on and on about something that in a million years, I could care less about.

It's not about men not listening--it's about hearing something worth listening to.

Also, it's okay to take a breath now and then gals.
Here we go again!

That women speak more words than men is a given. But my question is of these extra words, how many do men or even other women hear?

Any answers?

Here I thought men were practically born with selective hearing.
When my husband & I are the only ones in the room other than the dog, he says, "Oh were you talking to me?" I certainly haven't started having regular conversations with the dog.
His brand of selective hearing is hearing what he wants to hear, I think.
That's why women need women friends, so they can talk for hours & both enjoy themselves in doing it.

That's what I used to tell Shirley. I would say, go visit one of your female friends, someone who can discuss some topic for 2 hours from 12 different angles and still find it interesting....

Then I would add: while you're out, could you pick me up a 12 pack of Guinness? Thank you, Dear...

I'll bet your ears prick up when the wife says "We need to talk." Not only that but I bet you look for the quickest escape route!

A comedian once said that when a woman says "we need to talk" what she really means is "you need to listen to all the ways you've been screwing up." When a woman says that, start a fire in the house, it's easier to deal with!

I REALLY don't mind how much women talk. Not at all. I'm okay with it.

I just wish they wouldn't do it on cell phone, on the North Dallas Tollway when I'm trying to get to work.

That's the scientific research I want to see, "Why women can't drive without talking on the phone".

Now, if you excuse me, I need to go back to my phone. My mom is on the line, and sooner or later, she's going to stop talking, and notice I'm not on the other end of the line.

CD

Seriously...even though we're joking here:

As a GENERALIZATION and not a rule, women will often talk about things that their men just don't give a crap about. And that's why women complain that men don't listen:

And no, we DON'T, using the selective hearing method as mentioned above:

To do otherwise and we would kill ourselves.

How in the wide world of sports do women think that their spouses care about their girlfriend's aunt who is going to Paris next month, but her passport didn't arrive yet, and everyone is all worried, and that she may have to drive down to Miami to yell and scream to expdite the passport?

I DON'T EVEN KNOW THE GIRLFRIEND--LET ALONE THE AUNT!!!
