Its by far no one simple reason.. But you have to admit he does have some points on the War. and the reasons we are SO Dependant on oil from the Middle east.

I had someone in the field explain that to me once. The reason we pay what it's gonna be instead of what they paid for the price of what's in the ground is so they can buy the same amount of full when the truck comes next time

Say they buy 1,000 gallons to fill there tank at $4 a gallon that's $4,000 they've spent
Now gas jumps to $6 a gallon, that's $6,000 to buy 1,000 gallons

If they sell the 1,000 gallons at $4 they originally spent they will only be able to buy about 660 gallons of gas at the $6 price.
Do that a couple times and they won't be able to fill the tanks and the station will go under.

Yep, I can see where we should have to pre-pay cost increases. Bet they don't pre-pay wage increases.Image

Well, WE can speculate all we want in regards to the fuel situation. But in all seriousness, I personally think we are witnessing the American way of life, standard of living etc. passing and fading away. :(

My wife & I have always taken trips around the country every year. But, I really think that's coming to an end. I can't afford it. I'm not poor by any means, we're strictly middle class, we both have good jobs, so we're lucky in that respect.

But what good is my Teardrop if I can't go all over and enjoy our great country? Sure, I can go and camp nearby here in Georgia and the Carolinas and I have, but if I want to go across country or hell, even half way across country, if gas goes to $6, $7 or more, well those days are gone forever. :(

Anyway, I've never been a gloom and doom kind of fella but I will have to say, I see strange and maybe even dangerous times ahead. And it will be because of oil has been the catalyst that has propelled these times that may be coming.
I poked it with a stick..........

In the mid 70's, I took a 3 month trip around the country in my converted van. Total cost was $1,000.00......

$500 for gas, $500 for everything else..... not sure what that would be in today's dollars, but I suspect it would still be a deal..

Total mileage was a bit over 15,000....

When you owe somebody money, they own you.
During Bush's term it seems we now owe everybody, and the more they print the less it's worth.
Before the government falls, they'll drag every one of us down first.

Have you actually done the math? My annual trip to the Adirondacks was about a thousand miles round trip. Once I move to Missouri I'll be going to the Ozarks or the Rockies instead, but probably about the same distance. I get about 20 mpg so that means I use about 50 gallons of gas. When gas was two bucks a gallon the fuel cost was $100. At six bucks a gallon the same trip will cost me $300. I don't like it, but is that enough to keep me from going? Not bloody likely!

I think every American should watch this video. It was the most informative thing I have ever watched on the money problems we are plagued with in our country... Thank you for sharing it was WELL worth the time it takes to watch..

I believe I have the one true answer and I don't think it will make your BS alarm go off. The answer is....We are being cheated by some greedy.......fill in your own word. Simple but I think it says it all.

100% true. And the people making the decisions have not paid for gas in the last 20-30 years, i.e.= you don't pay when your a Alderman, a Mayor, a Governor, a Congressman, a President, or any of the other 100's of government positions.

I googled the name of Larry Bates, the first guy interviewed. Along with being anti-FED, he's and very religious "end-timer", who believes a woman should NEVER be president (that's God's natural order), and that legalized gay marriage is a major obstacle to democracy.

His company, FAMC, sells a number of things, including Glutathione, which will prevent cancer, and a 189 dollar device that will make colloidal silver from silver wire. This stuff is supposed to be useful for treating allergies, boils, herpes, stomach flu, lime disease, gonorrhea, bladder irritations and chickenpox (BTW, the FDA doesn't want us to know about this stuff, because it competes with the medical industry -- or something).

They also deal in Precious Metals, and Mr. Bates has biblical reasons why you should invest in them...

He seems like an old-time revival tent preacher on an end-times mission and out to make a buck in the process.

And you don't care how much a tank of gas costs when your are the CEO of Exxon-Mobil, who took home about 27-million in 2007. You can fill-up the limo with premium with the change you find in the seat cushions.
