: 0 Uh says 0 is the worst. That is because the mall is 2.5 miles away. Auto dependant. We don't have a bus system either.

Now I used to walk a 12 minute mile so I am betting they take everything into consideration. We only need a grocery store and Walmart is 2 miles. A nice walk to. Up hill all the way coming home though.

Our previous home in Lawrence KS was a 63. :thinking:

They gave my town a 45 - car dependent. That doesn't make any sense. I can walk to most things here. :thinking:

Hmmmm, seems they are more accurate in some places that others. I'm sure they couldn't have researched EVERY neighborhood in the US.

They probably are more accurate in the major cities.

I thought they had my address pretty well nailed. I have a 7-11 about 300 yards from my house, but no sidewalk to use for me to walk there. I have to walk on a busy street, or through an overgrown field.

Frisco had big plans to make the town "bike friendly" ten years ago. Then we elected a developer to Mayor. The big bike paths and bike lanes never came to exist -- at least on my side of town.

This thing is rigged somehow.

Just for fun, I plugged in the a Wal-Mart that is in a shopping center and it gave a score of 74. Walking distance doesn't get any better than living inside a Wal-Mart. How else could you possibly get a higher score?

It's how you enter the information. I'm on the edge of town so, I put in my street, city, and state and it gave me a score of 18, placing a picture of a house icon in the center of that street. When I just entered the city and state, it placed the city hall icon near the center of town and gave me a score of 85.

Okay. That works for me.... :applause:

That is the good news, the bad news is that I never go to any of the places that they listed. :thumbdown:

However, I do walk between 5.5 & 6 miles every day for my health and to accumulate carbon offsets so I can do 10,000+ mile Teardrop Trips once every year or two.

If I lived next door to a Wal-Mart, I'd still have to drive -- just to shop someplace else. :lol:
