Do You Know Your Trees?

I owned a house in CT that had a beech tree. It was quite old and healthy. I am 6-2 and could only get my arms around half of the trunk...

A big concern was it was the last tree to lose its leaves, and that put me into hurricane season... but, it never lost any of it's major limbs, just the usual small stuff.....

And while all the maples were bare, the beech finally would drop its leaves in late october or early november.... I did get a tree service to cable some of it as it was only about 15' from the house.
