Hi Becca,
You're welcome! It was fun trying to get a fit for the name.
For another "few cents" worth:
I'd favor ending whichever name phrase you choose
with "Roulet" [to roll = a roulet][rolls = rouleaux],
since it has a very reminisant (sp?) sound and
emphasis along the lines of the Spanish "Ole'!"
As for nicknames, I was thinking "chichi" if you go with "Chateau"
but spelled like "Zsa Zsa" - "Chi Chi" . But then I found "chichi" means
"affectedly trendy"(!) per the google online dictionary. [I am beyond
fashion illiteracy - 'haven't a clue about that stuff - just recalled hearing
that word somewhere associated with "design" and thought it might
have possibly worked and that it had a more positive connotation.] I also
just remembered "Chi Chi's" is also the name of a defunct restaurant
chain (!) - so best to nix that suggestion I guess.
If you go with "Maison" you could use "Mimi" or "Mamie" or "MaiMai"
[pronounced "MayMay"] or MaeMae [adding a nod to Mae West
perhaps? - 'Roll on over and see me sometime ! ']
And for either "Chateau" or "Maison" you can't get much more French
for a nickname or pet name than "Gigi", I'd dare say.
"La Petit Chateau Rouler" would be closest to your original thought.
"Ma Petite Maison Rouler" might be more of a personal or possibly
"cuter" way to go.
And on further consideration, maybe using "rouleaux" [rolls]
instead of "roulet" [roll] might be even better, perhaps less chance of
mispronunciations:
The Little Chateau rolls" = La Petit Chateau Rouleaux" [American word order used]
"My Little Maison Rolls" = Ma Petit Maison Rouleaux" [American word
order used]
So:
Let your pretty little chateau/cottage roll !
Laissez votre rouleau chateau/maison jolie petite !
Happy deciding!
and
Au Revoir!
Norm
