Yeah but doing so will not be effective if someone has one of the items on my list. You'd better add some thick armor plating if you wanna be safe.

I think a good approach is to be were no one else will be.

Just a thought.

I personally would choose other as for an assailant having one of the above mentioned weapons better watch out for mine she has one heck of a bite and all depends on the command given she might do a little more then restrain

That's exactly why one should "keep your head down".

Hey, you give this long list of firearms but don't you need to have a club too, in case of a baby seal attack if you're camping in Canada?

a) Few of the weapons on my list are "firearms"
b) I have no need of a club as I have one viscous 5'2" wife. I'm exceptionally fortunate to have survived 38+ years of marriage. See pic above. THAT was just a "warning shot".

Cheers,

Over the past few years, 100% of my camping experiences have been of the boondocking variety (unless you count the luxury of an outhouse as more than primitive.) When camping I have a .357 CCW and there's usually a 12ga, 22-250 and/or 30-30 in the TV. My security needs are more for the rare occurrence of running into wildlife that isn't wild enough than the two legged issues.

This summer I had the 11 year old scouts in tents and had a bear wander through camp ... fortunately setting off the car alarm with the panic button on my keys scattered it quick enough. I've used that trick twice now. It's a familiar sound to the boys and most of them just rolled over and went back to sleep. I spent the rest of the night standing watch because it spooked me a little (lots of responsibility with entrusted young people around.) Every camp out since, ol' hound dog has accompanied us (he makes a good perimeter alarm if nothing else.)

Keep a clean camp, put consumables/valuables away properly, and show purposeful activity in camp and most "issues" will leave you alone.

Actually I do my best to hear every word she says and do exactly what I'm told to do. When I had brain surgery the eighth cranial nerve on my left side was damaged so I'm pretty much deaf in my left ear (all true). She sometimes sneaks up on my left side, says something I can't hear, and then wops me when I don't jump to it. It's all a set up. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I learned that phrase from my friend the "convict". He learned it in prison. That's his story and he's sticking to it.

Cheers,

Gus

Forgot to mention. Yes the surgeon found a brain.

In a letter to another surgeon of mine he wrote of his efforts to fix said brain: "Sometimes I think God works against me". I take that to mean he was not happy with the condition of my brain. He cut one nerve in two and inserted some shredded teflon to separate another nerve and an artery that was irritating it. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. It didn't work for me.

Cheers,

Gus
