Right on. I haven't got to nearly 1000 postings by only posting when I actually knew what I was writing about......

Otis was the only guy in that town who knew how to party!

I mean, Barney was going with Thelma Lou for like 7 years, and I don't think he ever got past 1st base!

Maybe that's what Juanita at the diner was for--only they couldn't be too blatant on TV in those days.

One of my top 5 shows of all time. Floyd the barber was really my favorite. (Emmit the handyman in the later years just didn't it do it for me, although Howard Sprague was okay.)

By the way, did you know that Floyd (don't know his real name) was sickly during most of the shows? That's why you always see him sitting--rarely standing.

OMG...
I just checked my stats...Been here less than 3 month and have made over 500 posts!!! I didn't know I did that much opinionating or asking questions...I know that most of my posts surely didn't involve the offering of expert advice.
Maybe I oughtta keep my lip zipped a little more.

OOPS, make that less than 4 months, not less than 3 months. Now I feel better. I'm only nly averaging 125 posts a month, not 165...WHEW.

My favorite character was rock chuckin' Ernest T. Bass.

I think I'm living with him now.

Yep, I'm like Cracker39, a non-lurker no TD built yet kind o guy. Lots of us I bet.

Actually I have decided to build and that wasn't an easy decision, believe u me!

Now I've cleaned out some of the shop for room to work and in the tool acquiring stage.

My trailer is sitting there staring at me as if to say..... you touch me with that grinder and I'll show YOU the road. Once I start grinding I no longer have a motorcycle trailer. Thats scary enough in itself. So I'm using lots of excuses to stall off the cutting stage while gathering tools and dealing with drawings and scale issues.

Lurkers are welcome is the bottom line. They may have a great idea that nobody ever thought of before that I can incorporate into my TD. So, speak up!

I lurked on the board for a long time. Joined in April, didn't make my first post until Sep.

Like has already been mentioned, beofre commiting to the build, I checked out photos, read many topics, trying to decide if the teardrop build was for me.

It is! I'm building now, I'll post some photos when I have something worth showing.

Which episode was Jack Nicholson in?

But I DEFINITELY remember the one with Barbara Eden:

She came to Mayberry to start a manicure business by renting space in Floyd's shop, and all of the women got jealous because all of the men started getting manicures.

And you think YOU need a life???

It is a lot of work... don't let anyone tell you otherwise...

I started my build and had a 4-5 month lull due to job situation, but I'm back working at it hard again. It is a major investment in time. But it is very rewarding to see it all coming together... and for me there was hump to overcome. I feel like I'm on the down hill slide now... I can see the light at the end of the tunnel -- er.. uhh... or that could be a train!

I'd recommend building your own but it is time consuming!

Yeah, but I have an advantage...... ;) I'm retired and my shop is where I hang out full time. Ouch! I know that hurt a bunch of guys but what can I say? Oops! :R Gotta go fire up the skiff, getting ready to go shark fishing off Daytona as soon as the water lays down a bit. I really should feel guilty here.... nah. Not even a bit!
