164CID or 2.7L (if you like) 110HP. Opposed 6 cylinder, 2 carbs, 4-speed trans. and 3:27 gear ratio the car weighs in at about 2700 lbs.. I should be fun towing the tear with the top down.. ( Woo Hoo) Now all i need is to get my tear built...

Greg,
Had a friend in highschool that had a corvair monza 2 door coupe. I loved driving that car. Still remember taking corners at, what seemed like at the time, about 50 mph. Flat cornering and lots of power. Almost more fun than my '64 Chevy II SS, it had a little 283 with a borg warner 4 speed, ate 289 Mustangs for breakfast... 396 Chevelles, it would leave 'em sitting in their own tire smoke, but they could always catch up at the top end.... ahhh to be a kid again.....

Boy, doncha watch yer 'Columbo' re-runs? Peugeot 403 convertible.
And an air-cooled Renault is as likely as a rear-engined Ford.
You boys want to do some more book-learning before you wake the teacher up again.....

And here I thought all along that Columbo's car was a Simca convertible. Talk about busting my bubble. :?

Have a good day.

As for the 4CV, back in 1957 I had one for about 3 months. Traded it in for a '53 MGTD. Wish I had either one of them today.

Eeeek! What a nasty idea! Simca's were not very nice cars, whereas Peugeots as old as Columbo's (1959) were beautifully-made cars - quite comparable with a Mercedes.

Columbo site 1 gives some background, while for them Yankee-hating Frenchifying guys like Madjack Columbo site 2 is in French.
