What did you FIND today?

I miss inorganic collections... Got some nice furniture that looked like crap till restored.
I had a nice antique radio collection as a kid from them too

While we were clearing out the inlaws basement there we found an old solid mahogany head board, that they didn't want to take to the new house. We put it out at the gate with a free sign on it, but the collections weren't happening in that area, and it sat there most of the day until it started to rain. I decided in the end to take it home and cut it down, stripped all the high gloss varnish off it and oiled it. We had a treadle base from a singer sewing machine, which now has a nice mahogany top, and is a super looking hall table

I did almost the same thing. Bought an old sewing machine base for $20.00 and had a piece of wood (not sure what kind....Not as nice as mahogany!) Stained the wood and put a couple of coats of polyurethane on it. It hold my portable Weber grill on my covered deck. Just the right size!! Your picture looks almost exactly like my little table...

Cruisin' the craigslist ads, found a 40 quart Coleman electric cooler, list price $129 for $75, new in box. Turns out he won it in a raffle and is converting from a tent trailer to an RV and didn't need it. He didn't have change for the 4 $20's so he asked if there was anything else I needed. Scored a 10 gallon gray water tote for $5.

A while back, 5 or 6 years, I was sitting at a stoplight with a line of traffic in front of me. Lawn care truck in front took off and lost his wood tailgate in the road along with a Stihl "sp" back pack blower and a nice chainsaw. Everybody else drove around it including me, I stopped the other side of the intersection and watched. The lawn care truck didn't stop so I turned around and went through the intersection and stopped and picked it all up. I used the heck out of all of it and now my son uses it as I got rid of all my trees that drop leaves. Larry
