Hey, Doug - The Last Great Race to your home town...

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

I'm thinking a teardrop tour to Alaska might be fun, It's one of the two states I've yet to visit. Dunno how I'd work it into a vacation yet though, hard to get enough time off work to make it worth doing.

:) Sounds like we might have the makings of a Teardrop gathering someday!
Two more sites for armchair mushers -
Cabelas' reporter, Jon Little, is an experienced musher and, I think, a good writer.
The Norwegians have been training on our Fairbanks area trails and they are very competitive. They report to the fans back home with much enthusiasm.
'Course I'll be cheering for an Alaskan!
    :peace: Fred
P.S. That King Salmon & I are standing on the Iditarod Trail at Unalakleet.

Well, it's sort of early in the race to pick a winner. But I'm predicting that one of our fine (and good lookin') Alaskan Women is going to win! :)

That would be an ultimate tear adventure!!! I love Whitehorse...I don't think a lot of people know exactly how beautiful that trip is and on the other hand, just how remote you can be at times...I'm sure it has changed since my last trip, 1976 but for a great get away from the crowd time...it can't be beat...and good luck to the Alaskan lady on the Iditarod!!! Doug, Check the leaderboard. Ali Zirkle just left Nikolai right with all the good ol' boys. Dee Dee Jonrowe's crankin' and Jessica Hendricks' right in there. Jessie Royer and Melanie Gould could pull it off too!
30 years? Time for another trip!

If there are no dogs in heaven, then when I die, I'll go where they went!" (Will Rogers)
Doug - You must recall where Will Rogers died.

Dee Dee Jonrowe arrived at Cripple in second place where she is taking her 24 hour layover.
Ali Zirkle finished her layover in Tokatna and will soon leapfrog back among the front runners.

I landed in a helicopter at the memorial for him and Wiley post, right on the sea cliffs just west of Barrow, I had to set a survey monument nearby so went over to check it out, I'll bet there are very few people that have seen that one...awesome photos guy!!! Doug

With the insulated body and an Atwood furnace to boot, I believe my build was designed to go to Alaska.
Hmmm... Imagine that???
