Your opinion and beliefs are noted.

While the original posting was leaning a bit toward the edge, I did not find it directed toward women, in fact, My interpretation was that it poked fun at men.

That the women here are equals is not in question.
The women are equal, and in many cases superior, and because of that, if one of the "men" takes a step out of line, they are quite capable of correcting the situation.
If by some off chance they were not, the administrators would admonish those responsible, and if so serious as to threaten the reputation of the board, remove the thread entirely.

I do not believe that this post was meant to degrade women, it was just a posting meant to bring humor.

It is clear that you do not appreciate it, and perhaps because of this, somewhere down the line, someone will refrain from posting this type of humor.

However, coming into this thread and degrading those who replied is probably not the most beneficial way to support your cause.

Again Steve, your concern is noted, and appreciated, but it was just a bit of humor.

We have some wonderful women on this forum who deserve better than what you have posted. So called jokes like this are written for the sole purpose of demeaning women. I know you didn't write it, but you fell into the trap of accepting it as funny. The women on this forum are equals, and colleagues in designing, building or dreaming about teardrop trailers, they certainly don't need this kind of posting here. The subjugation of women isn't the least bit humorous, and if you don't know what subjugation is, I suggest you look it up. Hopefully your intent wasn't to oppress the feminine part of our group, if it was Shame on you. If you try and rationalize that it was "just a joke", sorry that lame excuse isn't good enough.

I've been married to the same wonderful woman for 37 yrs. When I showed her this she just laughed. I think that our society spends way too much time looking for something to be offended by.

While I essentially agree with Steve about the subjugation of women, we also need to be able to laugh at our foibles...like Rob, I found the piece more of a knock on hard headed, close minded men and laughed at it as such...for myself, an avid gun owner, I much prefer my wife-mate to my guns...while my guns might be able to provide the makin's for a meal, it can't cook them, while my guns might give me a warm comfy feeling at times, they can't hold me when I'm down, they can't pat me on the back when I've done good, they can't kick my butt when I am screwing up, they can't keep me warm and happy in bed, they can't be my friend and companion and lover and most of all they can't hold the other end of that board or hand me a tool or get me a cuppa coffee...I absolutely love my woman, I absolutely love our women here, heck, I absolutely love and appreciate all women for the joy, color and companionship they bring to a sometimes drab/dangerous/depressing world....HAGD

Steve I agree we should not degrade women in any derogatory post,, however,, this was humor,, Its a joke,,, most of the women I know bust my chops about hair, age, sexual prowness, dumb things I do on a daily basis, and the list goes on and on,, I generally joke very hard with these ladies and they give it back two fold,, I can take it and we all have a great time poking fun at each other,, Life is funny as heck,,, we as people on this earth are humerous,, everything we do has humor in it,, Ya just have to look at the light side of life and not get so tangled up in being the oppressed or the champion of the oppressed,, If ya dont think life is funny as heck, just go to the mall or local K-Mart and watch people,,, kids may say the darned things but people do the damnest things,,,

To all the ladies on this forum, you have my most sincere respect for planning and or building a teardrop,, We men have a hard time with this undertaking,,, if ya dont think so just read the perils of Ira, or look at my door,,,Ladies you got my support 100%,, but be ready for blonde joke or some crack about the weaker sex,,

one final thought,, about the only thing that makes teardropping more fun is having a woulderful lady with a sence of humor to share it with,,,
