Gas in your area.....

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

I figure Kate & my "Teardrop Time" this June - from the Camp ADK Spring Tear-Up to the TearJerker's Pocono Getaway and all points in between - is going t cost about $235 in gas at $3.25/gal. Yeah, it'd be nice if gas went back to a buck and a half so it would only be $118 but the price of gas is hardly going to keep us from going.

i'm with madjackon this one. i read a bunch of the posts and it made me feel yucky. and well, that's not why i like this forum. this forum lets me get away from the reality of the $$$$ i dump into the tank to do stuff. if we pay more for gas, maybe we'll get to the point of making more fuel efficient vehicles? or alternative fuels?

i had a new '89 ford escort 5 speed when i got my license. consistently got 35-37 mpg. bought a new ford focus in 2004, same car, 5 speed hatchback. couldn't get over 26 mgg. that's not right.

well thanks for listening. i like this forum, it's my "happy place" btw, gas is $3.25 per gallon here in wisconsin.

:thinking: Hmm, it's 2682 miles for me to get back to the 'TearJerker's Pocono Getaway'. I've got two credit cards that are sitting at 0$. I sure hope that's enough. About the only thing I can look forward to is that the cost of gas should get cheaper as I go east. But then again, I have to turn around and come west. :(

Just go south, instead, so you will be going downhill. :D

Of course, going north is uphill, so you'd have to leave your truck and TD down south till gas prices go down. 8)

Gage, thats whatI look foward to when I leave in a few days. Two tanks of California high priced gas and I'm out of here, heading east to cheaper gas. That almost makes the trip feasable. Chevron, down on the freeway was $3.69 for Regular yeasterday. I burn the cheap stuff most of the time.

Gas Crisis (a little humor)

A lot of folks can't understand how we came
to have an oil shortage here in our country.

Well, there's a very simple answer.

Nobody bothered to check the oil.

We just didn't know we were getting low

The reason for that is purely geographical.

Our OIL is located in:
~~~
ALASKA
~~~
California
~~~
Coastal Florida
~~~
Coastal Louisiana
~~~
Kansas
~~~
Oklahoma
~~~
Pennsylvania
and
Texas
~~~
Our
DIPSTICKS
are located in
Washington , DC !!!!

Any Questions?

Went from $2.89 here to $3.15. Happy Mothers Day. In anticipation of higher usage the wholesale price of gas went up 10 cents a gallon. Now why should my local station change their price within minutes of the market close?

I paid $2.99 for 1 fill up on the way to Abilene.

Bought cheap gas at Wal-Mart in Abilene, $ 2.74 a gallon.

We were trying to plan a trip to the Paiute Utah ATV trailes this summer but I don't think we can afford the gas.

I think it was $2.76 yesterday when I topped off the Jeep (I always fill up when down to 3/4 tank.... not quite so painful that way!)

Don't worry... we are "slow" here in Alaska..... but we'll catch up before long!
