they work at a Liberta and stack books. i just go to a book store and read books there, why waste gas taking a book home then having to take it back.

I'm pretty sure if I try to reply to Joseph's post I'll get the thread pulled and maybe me banned, so I'll just say I strongly disagree with his take on our current situation and with his stand on minimum wage and affordable health care.

How quickly we forget.

Our military.

Our reputation in the world.

Our vets.

Our kids.

Our railroads, highways, bridges, harbors.

Our borders.

Our jobs.

Our schools.

Our pension plans.

Our savings accounts.

Our wages, benefits, and futures.

All at risk and in the grip of a complete fake, an utter moron, and a cabal of greedy opportunists without even a passing acquaintance with reality.

Things may be changing on the war front. Soon I fear it won't be just overseas. We've been picking up Iranian and Chinese illegals coming across the border carrying potassium iodine tablets.

You draw the conclusions on this one.

I'm too dumb to draw the conclusion:

Is that stuff POISONOUS? Or is it a TREATMENT for something that they think is going to happen and that we don't know about?

I have the distinction of earning the lowest chemistry grade in South Shore High School history--a 50.

I graduated in 1974, and I think that record still stands.

Ira, it is an over the counter thing...I don't know how available it is though...I found this link among many on Google http://www.nukepills.com/ ...in this day age, sadly we should all probaly have some in our emergency kit, especially if we live within a hundred miles or so of a major metro area or a nuke plant...

p.s. not trying to fuel paranoia but, you know what the Boy Scouts say....

Here's a multi-purpose reply.

madjack wrote:it's the stuff that would have saved thousands if they had been given it after Chernobyl......

The current count of total deaths of Ukrainians from Chernobyl radiation stands at around 60 people (yes, six-zero). That 60 includes the clean-up squads who went in to make the plant as safe as they could, in the knowledge of their certain death - the greatest act of heroism in the last century, I reckon.

It turns out that the risk of death from low levels of radiation was estimated from the results of higher levels of radiation and it may all be wrong. This is from a BBC documentary a few weeks ago.

However the subject remains a political hot potato - Greenpeace certainly disagrees.

Now this is all going wrong. In Britain, the Girl Guides (Scouts) is for girls aged about 12 or over. There is a junior organisation for girls up to the age of 12 - they are called Brownies. That's not what you're talking about, is it?

AT LEAST MINE ARE OVER TWELVE!

Yeah, its the same here, Andrew--and that's what we're talking about.

Basically, I THINK we can still get away with it because we've been saying it since we WERE those ages, when we were scouts ourselves.

Also, and this ain't no lie, I was in Troop 292--in the BEAVER patrol. At that time, a troop was divided into smaller groups called patrols.

You know--sort of how the SS was organized.
