I need a new employee! I stick in big band (Glen Miller) and all the ladies are singing and upbeat...Tom Jones is a hit with them also...gotta know yer customer base.... Doug

Doug, Try out Rod Stewart's "Great American Songbook" volumes 1,2,3 & 4 he did a great job on the old standards and the ladies will love you for it. My 86 year old mother got us interested in the albums. :) Danny

Danny...thanks for the idea...I've got Patsy Cline, old Frank Sinatra, some Dean Martin, and honestly, I hate to admit it...a collection of Barry Manilow that I plug in....It's just mindless stuff for me, but some of the ladies that come in always comment positively on the music, and that is all that matters for me...I'm near a Cancer lab and hospital and there are a lot of customers that come in to just hang out and look at fabric...Also, a lot of the fabrics we carry donate a portion of the proceeds to the Breast Cancer foundation. I don't mean to make light of the music situation, just try to give them what they want....and for those ladies, I don't really care if they buy or not, they are having a good time in a bad situation...........Doug

With an accordion champ in our present company, maybe he can bust out some Polka music. Or Tejano music because they sound the same to me.

Just play some Snoop Dougie Doug. I'm sure the old ladies will get jiggy with it.

Now this maybe hard to believe, but, their is a band in our area with two guitars, saxophone and an accordion. You have never heard a better version of Jimmy Hendricks Star Spangled Banner. They are also one of the most popular polka bands around. And they play everything in between.

Jim...we've got a frequent buyer punch card at the store, and when the ladies forget to bring their card in, for me to give them a new one I always joke that they have to sing to get a card and I get to pick the song...I always pick Tina Turners "Proud Mary" some actually start singing...kind of a joke but I've yet to have someone complain. You guys all SUCK!

First, disco ROCKS!

If you want to know more about me in my late teens and early 20s, the cultured upbringing that made me who I am today, just watch Saturday Night Fever.

I lived two exits from the disco featured in that movie...that was my wardrobe...that was my LIFE!

Second, Afternoon Delight was playing the first time that Stacey Glazer tongue-kissed me, and to this day, I can't listen to that song without getting an erection.

She just kissed me, nothing more, and that's why I keep getting that erection.

All males of a certain age with normal levels of testerone in those days went to the disco--whether you liked the music or not.

Now, as for Deadheads--that's TOTALLY unexplainable.

Oh No! now I'm agreeing with Ira. We may have grown up in differant cities together. We like the same music, smoke the same brand, and except for the beer thing (and I've tried my best to convert him), we have the same thoughts.
