I agree the guy was a nut, but I understood that the bear that ate him was not one of the ones he had been "living among" for the previous eight years. It was a new bear to the area...and that's why it did not "know" him. That doesn't make his any saner!!!! I'm just answering the original question for a different spin on the story.
