...I take the day off and look what happens...sheeeesh...I went and looked at Dooners pic...while I find it distasteful on a personal level, it was no more "wrong" than the pic Ira posted...if one is allowed, so should the other...THIS is one more proof as to why we ask...nay...even implore members to refrain from postings of a sexual nature, political nature or religious nature...SOMEBODY is going to be offended...no matter what...Ira, Dooner, Miriam...heck, EVERYONE, I hope you read what I have said and take it to heart...this forum is only as good as the members make it and ALL of you old hands know the alternative(me, playing censor)...you won't like, I can assurre you I won't like it and I am sure when I say, that Mike and the others in admin won't like it...so play nice and THINK HARD about the effects of your posts on other members sensibilities...it's just common courtesy......

Dooner, personally I have no problems with your postings...and I didn't pull/edit the post...actually, I saw the first couple of posts in this thread while passing through this morning and thought...somebody is gonna bitch about this...and this was way before your post...all I ask of EVERYONE is to remember that what is pretty or appealing to some may be offensive to others and vice-versa... just be aware of that fact when posting...as I said above...it's just a mater of common courtesy....

I didn't see the offending post but I have a feeling that it probably wasn't that big of a deal. You are using the internet, there are popups and spam that probably contain more offensive material.

If you don't like it then stay out. You know what you are getting into just by looking at the title and author of the thread. I've been on other forums where it gets out of hand even for me. I just don't click on the thread and let them have their fun, after a while it will die down.

We don't need a morality police to tell us what is wrong and right. The thread was started as a joke, what do you expect. We are all grown ups here.....even though we don't all act that way.

You have a good memory! I posted that picture when saying how beautiful it us up where you live and how jealous I was. That was in a state partk in Felton.

You summed it up correctly with "SOMEBODY is going to be offended" but I think the problem is more to do with oversensitive offendee's rather than the alledged offender's.


The post's here have obviously been done with humour and not offensive intent.

...that is the point...exactly...we have built this board into a place of "sharing and caring" and those types of posts are detrimental to that continuing mission.

...on other boards, you can rant, rave and romp, poke fun on a personal level, get into heated arguments between the offender/offendee, throw cyber mud, knives and bullets...it really doesn't matter since you will never meet that person in the real world...here it is just the opposite...there is a good chance you will meet that other person one day at a gathering where you will share food, drink, a campfire and fellowship...not easy to do if your are PO'd at one or another attendees

All I am saying is to be aware of the other persons feelings and how that post...funny/hilarious to you, might be HURTFUL and OFFENSIVE to others...as I stated above...it is only for COMMON COURTESY that we ask.....

PUBLIC APOLOGY

I want to apologize to all persons offended by my post. I honestly did not mean any harm to anyone. I chose that picture because it was connected to a fetish site, so she was freely consenting to be exposed to the world to be desirable or funny, which ever the case may be. She obviously took all the lemons that were dumped on her and made the best lemonade she could. That's how she makes her living, being laughed at or drooled over.
If the picture was associated with a medical site, believe me, I would have never used it. I don't want to make fun of a person that feels that is a problem and has made there life hell.

And I think we should just do what MJ said, "Let's all just get along."

Lastly, I hope all this made sence. I'm not good with words. And this will be my last post to the Off Topic section. So the rest of you, have fun and be nice.
