Ira,

You may have to go in set the PC to default to the Gateway of your router (should be 192.168.1.1, but may be different).

First - Go to the 'tools' on the top of the browser, then select 'internet options', then the 'connections tab', then 'LAN settings' and check the 'Automatic detect settings' button.

If that is selected then try this:

Go to the 'start' menu and select 'run'

Type in 'ipconfig /all'

If there is no gateway listed, then you have to do some configuration.

On the 'start' menu there should be a 'My network places' button, select it

Then select the 'setup wireless network for home or office' on the left and work thru the wizard.

I have a Belkin now, but don't see any address listed in the manual. The laptop is right next to me, so let me see if I can IND what you'r talking about.

This is unbelievable. The iBook is connecting with no problem at all.

Plus, my younger son has some kind of a weird marshmallow roasting on a fire as his cursor--and I can't find the damn HOT POINT for it.

Plus--TWO MOUSE BUTTONS?

When I rebboted his laptop, I see he automatically connected--no password required.

That's okay right? I trust him. On the iBook, I had to put in the password.

(And pssss--if you're ever in the neigborhood, the password is CoralSprings1.)

Well, it can't find that run thing...I made it to here...and there's no My Network Places button in the Start menu. He's on XP.

Any other idea where to look for it?

I REALY appreciate all of your help, but I can't BELIEVE you guys actually use these things.
