Postby Catoosa Grani » Wed Jan 30, 2008 12:53 pm

Well, in other forums we are in there are a lot of younger people that accpeted us so I became Grani. We own a MINI Cooper so they called me MINI Grani so when I came on here I just dropped the MINI and added Catoosa, where we live. Just look at the picture, that tells the story for Grani. Oh, and we do have 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and another great on the way. :?

I spent 20 years in the US Air Force as an Aircraft Armament System Specialist, more commonly referred to as a Weapons Troop. Weapons is then further broken down into either flight line or back shop duties, I spent my time on the flight line, one of our main jobs was loading the weapons on the jets. Many times pilots, crew chiefs and others referred to us as Weapons or Loaders. There you have it!

It was the beginning of my e-mail address at my college and it was easier to use it for my online idenity rather than making up new ones all the time just my last name with 3 random numbers assigned to it. Still use it 5 years later.

Wife was blessed with four Christian names instead of the customary three – “starleen” is her third name in the sequence. She doesn’t get to use it a lot because most forms only ask for the first , middle, and last name. So we honor it by using it as a screen name

Postby Daniel Bernoulli » Wed Jan 30, 2008 9:37 pm

I was a business school finance professor for 35 years. Daniel Bernoulli (lived 1700-1782) wrote extensively about mathematics, statistics, fluid flow, and the functional relationship between wealth and happiness (utility theory).

Modern contributions to the theory of finance (and many other disciplines) owe a great deal to the seminal works of Bernoulli. I would like to invite him over to my house for dinner and conversation.

Hey, whatchaknow? As a Naval Architect, Bernoulli's work on fluid flow is part of my blood, but I never knew he worked on utility theory too.

Mine came from a movie called "Pow Wow Highway". The character Philbert, played by Gary Farmer, bought an old '64 Buick with a sack of weed and some whiskey. He called the car War Pony, the Protector.

I had a '73 El Camino that was a total rust bucket but I loved that car and called it The War Pony. It served me well for many years and when I started joining forums on the internet I used the name and it has stuck.

Love rusty cars.......... must be the Indian in me   !!!!!!!!!

My name, FireLion BlueHawk, is a conglomeration of 2 names. FireLion is because I'm a leo (lion) (fire sign), and BlueHawk is from a spirit quest I undertook many years ago. Also, I had my own business for a few years under the name of BlueHawk Traders (Native American good made the old way).

Now the Aunti M was a tag from Steve Cox teasing. Then some sweet thang put it on my avatar. It stuck. It fits and I love it. :D

Mine? After years of tent camping I'm getting too old to sleep on the ground.
If I have to drag along a trailer to haul all the stuff I'd need to sleep comfortably why not just build a cool little camper.

I use 1armbandit on most other forums, a handle given to me by my martial arts instructor.

I thought something more descriptive of my joining this site was in order.

Mine came from a rule of thumb in photography, the Sunny 16 rule. On a sunny day, put your shutter speed on the nearest number that matches your film speed and your f/stop on the lens to f/16 and you should have a correct exposure if you don't have an exposure meter. Works every time, almost. At least with the old film cameras. I used to do a lot more photography than I do now.

Born with it. Funny thing never had anyone else in school with the same name either first or last(well my older brother). Now I probably know about a dozen Aaron's.
If I could shut my brain off, I could save myself alot of time, money and effort.
