COOL. I got mine for 22 cents a square. It is the sticky stuff and it was giving me a hard time. Soooo...I just put some rocks on it and left it a couple nights. It worked out pretty good.

Your new teardrop is really cute! How appropriate, to have a dog on the door of a dog-lover's teardrop!

I don't think anyone has offered advice yet on your pooch problem. Try feeding her in it. (Take the mattress out first or you might have food all over that.) Start by putting the food right in the doorway so she only has to put her head in. (Or, if you have a step in front of the door, you might have to start with that.) If she gets hungry enough, she'll go over and eat in the doorway. You can try sitting in the doorway and coaxing her with a treat at first. After a couple days of that, when you see she's getting comfortable with it, start placing the dish of food a little further back. Make her stretch a bit for her food. When she starts being okay with that, push the food dish back enough so that she has to put her front legs on the floor of the teardrop. With each success, reward her with a nice petting in the doorway and tell her what a good dog she is. Gush over her a bit. The idea is to get her comfortable with the new "home" and give her positive rewards so that she associates good things with the new teardrop. Continue this method until the dish is all the way to the wall opposite the door and she is all the way in. It should take a week or maybe two, if she's really skittish.

Good Luck!
Sharon

One more thing: Do not-not-not close the door to cage her in until she's totally comfortable in there as that could frighten her to the point that she never goes in again. When you do want to try closing the door, stay inside with her and open that bottom window to show her that she can still see and smell the outdoors. (You might want to show her that little window even before you close the door.) Be gentle and talk soothingly and give her lots of petting or whatever keeps her calm enough so that she willingly lays down on her own.

Thanks

I took her out camping and I had no problems. It is if she got bored of being scared. She really is a weird dog...

Oh, Good! I'm glad. You may have solved the problem when you put in the new floor because it probably smothered any dog smell from the previous owner's pets.

By the way, I was just looking up at the top corner of my screen and there's a teardrop displayed in the Hall of Fame snapshots that looks like the same shape as yours. It's called "Wild Mike's Scoutmaster".

Regards,
Sharon

"Wild Mike's Scoutmaster" is now "Mine"
Mike does not show up on the board, thus his pics are still up, so I guess my 'old' trailer will be on the board in the hall of fame.
But yep, that's my trailer! It looks different now, but it will slowly look even more different as a decorate it.

Miriam:
They would have done more if my dogs didn't start barking at Betsy for messing with my trailer. My dogs didn't bark a single time the whole trip, but since Jim and Lori wanted to play another round of horse shoes I was not by my trailer so the dogs went nuts when Betsy started on it.

Well I am glad you don't have problems.

My dog never liked being closed in. She was okay with the car, because of all the windows -- it didn't seem closed in.

You might want to consider a window for the non-door side, so the dog can look out.

I just wanted to put a few more pics of my progress. It took me a little bit to get working on it. There was all the flooding/raining here and I had to put together a tarped garage and put bricks down on the ground so that the moisture would not bother the trailer.
So here is the progress...

I wanted to introduce you to my supervisor. He is even sleeping on the job!
Image

Bad picture, but this is a picture of part of the new skin on my trailer. I am not done with it yet. When I get done painting the outside I will get better pictures.
Image

So I bet the pictures are going to turn out really small because I have not yet mastered the tecnique of posting pictures correctly...

(If not, they are in my album.)
