Heikki all I can say is good luck, and we did miss you. I am not very good at these things so get well soon and let us know if we can help.

ImageYeah yeah everyone is gonna be nice to you but I am gonna kick your rear end. You are here by ordered to get as healthy as you can.

We have been praying for you because we knew you would not go away without a serious reason. Heikki we are your friends and truly this is the time to share so we can help carry, if not the physical burden, the spiritual and emotional one.

Thank You so much. No I didnt leave any of you for any reason other than what was beyond my own control. Your prayers have been received and also heard. Your friendship is worth more than I can say in words. Believe me. It has been difficult and heavy as well as emotional, especially for my loving wife and boys. Im really greatful for them as well.

Thanks again for your kind thoughts.

Im turning in since the medication is making me sleepy as well as the amount of hours Ive been up & about.

best wishes to you all

Hello Heikki,
Welcome back and glad you didn't get sea sick on top of everything else. ;) You know my situation so I won't go into that at this time (I'll email you later). But, just plan on things taking you longer because you'll need to take more rest breaks to refurbish your lungs when you start running out of air. You'll also find that you'll need help more often doing things that you used to be able to do without help. But that's ok. You'll find that will be the hardest, asking for help. It deals with self pride which now will have to be adjusted and that to is ok. Oh and try and do more walking to build up strength in what is left of your lungs. And pressure, what's that? Just take it as it comes and don't worry about it. Have faith in your doctor and relax. It'll all work out.

Good Afternoon my friend Gage. Its so nice to hear from you again.
It wasnt easy at work this time around. An entire ship filled to the max in passengers. Over 300 ships expected in Helsinki alone this summer for visits. From luxury ships to big yachts. Tourist season is at its peak and the Europeans are expected yet in July & August.

Well I was starting to worry since I began sweating just from small chores and for me that in no way was normal but I thought it was from the heat but boy was I ever wrong. Here is the outcome.. :( Ive always been the type to do things myself no matter what it may be. My wife says to me all the time that I wont accept work left undone and do things wether sick or not.. Your right Gage - Self pride and stuborness and worry are my traits.. (can I laugh at it?) :D And yep it does seem to take me longer to do things. And a short rest after it all, with full sweat on the surface.

One thing I found out is that hardly any symptoms at sea. Its most likely due to the air movement and salty conditions..just strange. I told the doctors the same thing.

But ok.. medication is helping and at times its like nothing is wrong but again days that are terrible.. like the weather I guess.

Gage I,ll send you email shortly.

Anyway thank you for your support and kind words.

Regards
Classic Finn ;)

Hey there Satch

Your very right, A camp out in the mountains would fit like a glove. And Norway has some of the nicest that are the closest to us. Here in Finland we dont have Mountains though. Tundra and Fells and lots of lakes are most common. But in any case a long camping trip is or would be good therapy.

Thanks for the nice reply.

Best regards

Good Afternoon Danny. Yes sir a big hand shake back at you. No computer malfunction.. it happened to the crazy finn himslef this time around. I kick myself in the head more than once not listening and knowing it all in my younger days.. now Im paying for it.

Have you heard the saying there that (you never listen to your parents)
and you think you know it all? Well thats me and hearing it from my parents.. and now only to admit they were right the entire time about smoking. and other things.

But ok I have to do my best with what Ive got now.. and try to listen to advice of others.. and the wife too. ;)

Thank You Danny

Hi there Bill, thanks for the prayers. I looked at the Voyager last night and sounded as if it was saying get me out of here and get me trimmed for the road..I had to check to see if it was still there.. :) And yes sure was. Ive got some things done to it that I havent had a chance to show yet but I,ll get it out in the sun to get some nice photos. It looks different nowadays.

Ive got a small yellow Moose in the tear.. ;)

Heikki, it's good to see you back and I wish you te best in dealing with your illness. I thought you must be sailing to some exotic places, but it seems you've just been navigating the hospital!

Heikki,
I don't post a lot here, but I read everything. You and your cadre of friends have given me a lot of humorous hours of reading. So, I feel like we are old friends (at least in spirit). We were so sorry to hear about your health issues. There are parallels in our own family and we understand how crushing that kind of news can be.

We are thrilled to have you back and look forward to seeing more of you on these sites. You are in our prayers. Happy camping!

Thank You Andrew

Ive dreamed of more exotic places than the hospital here and the old nurses we have..I do prefer the young nurses. To look at ... Just looking is exhausting ...and brings up a sweat..

Thanks Andrew and always a pleasure to hear from you.
