Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Postby Miriam C. » Fri Aug 29, 2008 8:41 pm

I couch potatoed it today. It rained all morning. This afternoon we shopped. I think that counted as exercise. Got some more sanding done too. I should have great arms. 8)

I have to help my sister load and unload a truck full of wood tomorrow. That will count as weight lifting.

How is everyone else doing?

Exercise.... Tomorrow I am going to move a step-son's furniture from his 3rd floor apartment, load it in a trailer and unload it in a storage. I think I'll make him back down the stairs with the big pieces

:duh: Oh jeez, I have had to do that a few times and it wasn't pleasant. My oldest lived on the 3rd floor and decided he had had enough of 'me' so he left me and my friend there to finish it. Well, well, well....you just don't piss the mama off when your belongings are on the 3RD FLOOR. Soooooooo..........I told my friend to go down stairs and make sure no one was in the line of fire. I proceeded to throw things off the balcony into the parking lot. Non breakables were thrown, but pillows, sheets, clothes, shoes, shoes, shoes. Well, it didn't take very long to get his crap out. Oh, the mattress and box spring went too. At that point I just didn't give a crap. Well, he and another buddy pulled up right as his mattress came flying down and he was you could say, EXTREMELY AND HIGHLY PISSED OFF AT ME! Tough! I told him, I had enough of him and we got in my car and left him and his buddies to clean up his mess. I don't think he came home for a couple of days but when he did, he was very apologetic and sorry. Kids can be little pissers at times. But, I will always love them. :)

This weekend I'm trying to find a semi-dry spot in Western Washington to do some higher altitude hiking. I need the training so badly...

Sept 6th I get on an airplane. Sept 8th I get off the airplane, in Tanzania (Africa). :D Two mountains to hike up and a few days relaxing on safari are on the agenda.

The "training" climb - Mt Meru
4 days, 21.7 miles roundtrip, 9895 ft gained to get to the 14980 ft summit.

The big climb - Mt Kilimanjaro on the Mechame-Mweka route
7 days, 39.5 miles roundtrip, 13376 ft net gain (16591 ft total gain, 3215 ft loss) to the 19334 ft summit.

I might burn a calorie or two.

I can't help it....I haven't settled down into "teardrop time" yet. I'm 32 and single....too much energy and time on my hands!

Life is all about the memories you make... ;)

Oh yeah, my nice camera is coming on the trip too! :pictures:

Sounds like a very exciting trip. I would love to do that but I think I would hike about....hmmm....20', turn around and go play with the yaks. Not a big mtn. climber but would do great being a base helper.

Please, please take lots of pics so we can enjoy your trip after your trip. And be safe. This is a safety prayer hug
{{{{ :worship: }}}}. Have fun too.

My exercise--belly dancing! It's great fun, great exercise, and it keeps my aging body from totally falling apart.

Honey, if you got it, shake it! I just love to dance but mostly at home, alone, while I do housework. My daughter in law laughs because she says that when music comes on, I start moving. My husband has had to give me that look in restaurants when they play music with a beat. I can't help myself, I like to dance.

And I just realized I could have called this the "Athletic Supporter"

I like the idea of watching TV while struggling. The gym is just down the road...that road paved with good intentions.
