And velcro gloves.

My first job when I left school was on a farm in Wales and those collies in the video that jackdaw posted are typical. I don't know if it's intelligence or what comes naturally but they love doing what they do. All the farms I visited the dogs would understand commands in English and Welsh, and if a sheep went astray they would do their job without any guidance, incrediable animals.

Most dog breeds have instinctive traits. We have lap dogs, attack dogs, herding dogs, etc.

Which is why it pays to know what these instincts are.. Right now, Tela, my b/c, is bugging me to play frisbee with her.... b/c's are highly energetic, and as they say, if you don't give them a job, they will find one... and you might not like the job they find...

So, be selective and understand the breed before you adopt.

Also, never buy a dog from a puppy store as I can gurantee tha 98% of the time they have come from a puppy mill... And puppy mills are not nice places.

Find a breed you like and look for a rescue group. There is probably a rescue group for any common breed you want within a 100 miles of where you live..

Heartbreaking story...thank God for the happy ending! The so-called human beings that do such things should be locked up in the same conditions in which they forced these animals to live!

No mercy for those who mistreat animals and/or children! They are the lowest life forms and should not be allowed back into society!

P.S still voting

For those of you who are voting, there are only 12 days left, so please keep it up... and, if you have more than one online access (I have mozilla, chrome and IE), you can vote on each one... so, please keep going... you can copy the link and vote once on each one.
