The kids made lasagna yesterday and I had a little half of a piece (small quantities of some stuff seems to be ok with me) and it was quite tasty.....but while I was out walking last night the feeling of having eaten a brick hit me.

So, this is what I don't get.....I had 2 small slices of some amazing pizza last week (at that bridal shower) and I expected to suffer, but didn't. This little bit of lasagna, I expected to be fine and not so much.

Do you think it is the "leaky gut" syndrome? In my gluten free approach, I haven't tried any gluten free pastas or breads or anything like that. I just haven't eaten it. It isn't easy and I still get the brick feeling sometimes. When I first started gluten free, I thought I just had to make sure everything was free of gluten...even meat seasonings or everyday products. Now, I have read where it is saying to leave off oats, corn, peas, and beans until you heal. It is even suggested to go lactos free....and leave off eggs.....it is all so much and so confusing and most doctots or so close minded about this info. Also, started reading last night some of what a naturopath has written about yeast growing...yet hidden...in the body and her own personal experience after taking tons of antibiotics as a child. I am so confused :? But hopeful. :)

Wow....what's left to eat?

I'm still figuring out what's what, but it seems the fructose thing was dead on. Oatmeal has become my breakfast staple, and that seems to be treating me well. I'm also trying to go with foods with the least amount of ingredients and only stuff you can pronounce (real food). That seems to be helping as well.

carrots...

You may be on to something. The literature I have read talked about greens and other veggies that were just not in the bean/ pea family and leaving out oats and gluten. I think everyone is just unique and what works for one....may not work for another. I am glad you are enjoying the oatmeal and I think you are on to something by eating the items with the least ingredients. I hope a book I ordered will shed some light on this for me so that I am less confused and can be healthier. Thanks for listening to my MS saga y'all. I promise that I go back to work 2moro. Right now, I am focused on that, cause I haven't been able to work....but next week I get to go back to work :) I will have other things on my mind then....I promise....sorry to bore you all. :)

Oh, not at all. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we are here to listen and help whenever and with whatever we can.

A friend of mine on FB (we went to HS together) was complaining about dizziness and she was supposed to go to the doc on Thursday. I immediately thought of you and your dizzy spells and mentioned that I had another friend going through something similar (I did not mention the diagnosis though). Haven't heard from her since then, which is really unusual. Hope she is ok.

Lisa said it all.

Yes ditto... We are here for each other.

ditto again. It was on here that I learned that my gout was gout. I am so far from the "typical" gout patient.. it was not even on my radar.

I know other's on here benefited on some of the info I later found on it...

Hi Jan

yeah.. yeast growth in the digestive track can be a very significant problem. It was something Dr. Wong-Ken used to work with. He had a way to address it. Actually that might have evolved over time..

I shared a "client" with Dr. Gable. She was working on him for the gut yeast problem.. and at the time he had to stay away from sugar. He would go some time without it.. and then cheat.. like Super Bowl Sunday.. he wanted to treat himself.. well if you had sugar before the "program" was through.. you defeated it's purpose. He ended up back at square one. He never really understood.. :? .. and eventually moved on from both of us... :worship: 8)

Thank you for sharing this with me, Glenn.

I don't know if your worship emoticon means that this "client" may have died or not. Well, I hope that he found a plan that worked for him, instead....if he survived. If he didn't survive, then I will take it as a cautionary tale. I know I must make some radical changes to be a healthier person. I know it cannot just be my diet and excercise....it is also negativity, stress, depression....and how I don't deal with things in the right way. I am active at work, but I don't get enough excercise in my off time. There is obviously something in my diet that isn't quite right either and I hope the book I ordered recently will help shed some light on these things.

At the same time, I promised my husband that I would follow doctors orders, as well. Maybe doing both will be a good thing :) I don't know....but my goal will be to eventually get off meds, only if I turn my health around first.

Again, I promise to speak about something else, when I am on here later this week... it is just right there on my mind at the moment....but, again, I get to return to work 2moro :) and I will speak of it less....I promise. Thanks for bearing with me. It helps reduce the fear :)

Jan.. in this case the emoticon.. was Dr. Gable and I being thankful the "client" moved on to someone else.

While someone with gut yeast.. may not be that comfortable.. or well... it is not anything that is life threatening. We each worked with him compassionately for quite some time... but he got to the point.. he did not get it.. did not do as he was supposed to.. and was at a point when it was not beneficial to any of us.. shruggy..

Oh, I see now :) Well, glad for you that he moved on then  I hope he finally understood and took care of his health

The steroid infusion -- day1--- is fine.....feel a little jittery....Then a lady called about my insurance....seems there is a slight porblem....the neurologist may not be on "the" lisr for ny insurance and so they may or may not want to pay thier part.....I had no idea this would happen, so threadsters be warned when/ if you are refered to a specialist.....oh, well....surely it will work out :) Keeping happy!

How r u?

I had a client that got bee sting therapy for her MS. She had a hard time the day of the shots but she did good the next day.

Wow! I have already read so much this this week about ms, but this is the 1st I have read about bee sting therapy. I am glad that it worked for your client. What I have learned is that ms effects different people in different ways....but similar ways. My hubby wants me to go on the meds (whatever those may be)...I will do that, but I am probably going on a raw foods diet meant to cleanse....I will probably take yoga and swim and try to find a healthy way to deal with stress and depression.....I think it is the only way for me......hopefully, I will be able to get off the meds eventually.

She was on part of a study and she got bee venom shots. She said it helped her so I guess it worked.

I think that is great that it worked for her and that she was able to be part of a study that thinks outside the box. I hope she is well today :worship: :) Thanks for sharing that with me.

That is something weird that one of the nurses said....he said that he won't see any cases of MS for a bit and then he will see a week of 100 cases.....I don't know if it is weather.....the super moon.....or time of yr or what.....weird.

Pretty weird stuff.

My friend got back to me this morning, she said they are leaning toward some type of inner ear thing and have her on some meds for that.

I saw something about that on PBS today. She had some good recomendations for probiotics.

Was that the lady with the giant bowl of yogurt? I saw her on PBS during one of their last fund drives.
