Brrrr... :snow :snowstorm:

It's a little cool here today, too. Jaimee has to wear a light jacket while sunning on the patio.

We are having what is known as "The Annual Frozen Daffodil and Snow Tire Festival." This usually happens in March when the weather warms to the high 70s and low 80s and all of the daffodils start blooming. This is usually followed within a few days by extremely cold weather involving snow and/or ice.

The last few days have been in the 70's and 80's, but it was sleeting on my way to tennis this morning.

Hotrod,

Better throw another log on the fire. After that snow, now we get socked with -20°.

I just got done blowing snow. I was sure glad the tractor started. Maybe this will be the last round. Now I have to worry about flooding. I guess that's my first sign of Spring.

It took awhile to get everything back to "normal" around the neighborhood. We could have used a tractor and blower but as usual we made it.
Im not down in the valley and I feel for the folks that are. I dont think theres enough snow out there to give us another spring of 97 event but denny wallaker was taking about fargo cresting at 37 ft which is plenty high. That will flood out parts of my work. Where are you at bigwoods??

When the last of the blooms fall or get cut off of the tree next to my garage. It blooms for a day or two every year, then freezes all the blooms off.I don't know what it is but obviously is meant for warmer climates.Too bad though,it's a beautiful tree/shrub/whatever.

Spring

Postby scott and becky » Wed Mar 18, 2009 12:02 pm

It has been in the 80's here in Southern California. You can tell spring is here because the ground and hills are covered with beautiful golden poppies.

Coupl'a weeks ago the SJ Valley was covered with Almond blossoms. 'An the poppies someone mentioned are in full bloom. Lots of folks I know are off to the desert to catch the wildflower bloom, too.
