:woohoo: No the Dr did not call, but Mike called his nurse who it either totally intimidated by him or totally in awe of him.

There is no sign of another clot or reason they can find for throwing one. :worship: I can drive again, climb my ladder again and most of all, I can deal with the long term things the test did show.

Seems I have an enlarged thyroid and a spot on my liver. July 9 I will go in for CTs on them to find out why. They will also check the T3 and T4 :? Something to do with thyroid function I think.

What a surprise huh. :D

So as I give up my Cherry Coke, my last remaining vice in my diet I would like to thank you all for your prayers and positive energy. We have certainly need it this week. I would also like to thank my creator and my Dr, without whose drama I might not have gone to the ER.

Miriam,

Glad to hear you're okay. Hope the remaining tests turnout as well.

As for giving up your Cherry Coke, I'll sympathize with you. I just gave up alcohol! :o

Miriam,
So glad to hear there is no sign of another clot.
To check the T3 and T4 is a blood test to check thyroid levels in blood. Thyroid is sort of like a hormone. As with all blood tests, there is a range that is normal otherwise it is too low or too high. If you don't have enough thyroid it causes problems, if you have too much it causes problems. There can be various reasons for the thyroid to do this.
I take thyroid for a different reason, years ago when my oldest daughter was a year old I had 1//2 my thyroid removed due to a nodule growing in one half. The thyroid itself looks a little like a bow tie & both sides make thyroid. I take thyroid to shut down mine, so it would be less apt to develop a nodule in the other half.
If you need to take thyroid because yours isn't producing enough, sometimes it takes a little while to find the right dose. I haven't had this problem, but a good friend of mine has & it is just a matter of working with the doctor to get everything right.
Good luck! & keep us posted
Martha ;)

Miriam- If it is your thyroid make an appt. to see an endocrinologist. They will know the best course of treatment for hypothyroidism.

We'll keep the prayers and positive energy coming.

My dog Jake gets a little blue pill twice a day for his thyroid. I was taking my Claritin this morning and realized as I put the pill in my mouth that I had opened the wrong bottle and was taking his medicine! I don't think I suffered any reaction from the brief time it sat on my tongue, but I have had this odd desire to chase cats all day long . . .
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.
