Wow! :o What a collection.

Here's mine:

1: I first met my wife in elementary school, I was in grade 3 and she was in grade 1. She called me names so I didn't talk to her for 12 years! (her best friend was in my class and she said that I like to be called names) We've been happily married for 21 years, 2 awesome girls, 17 and 15.

2:I quit high school and went to college when I was 28. Took a program called Micro Computers for Small Business. Learned about computers on a Commodore SuperPet. We got to borrow one portable computer called an Osbourne. My instructor used to program mainframes with punch cards!

3:I grew up as an only child and moved out when I got married at 26. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother. (figure that one out! )

Google around for "The Last Saskatchewan Pirate" by the Arrogant Worms. Sounds like it might be your theme song!

You have a PRESS in your garage? And a PLATEMAKER?

How does the platemaker work nowadays? You just output your computer file to film and makea copper plate from that? Or is it a 3M plastic plate?

And do you know a good web guy?

So many questions....
Here we go again!

Ira... The printing equipment in the garage is 20 years old... not exactly up to date. Do you mean a web press printer? If so, no... I'v been out of that business since '94.

I'm afraid I'm not as talented as some, or as outrageous as others. I probably posted most of this information on other threads.

1. I'm a RARITY...I live in Florida and I'M A NATIVE FLORIDIAN. I worked at the Space Center as a computer operator, recording data on all of the Apollo and Skylab launches. Later, I managed one of the four World Wide Military Command and Control System computer sites (at the Patuxent River Test Center in Maryland). The WWMCCS' coordinated all facets of the military from the 70s through the 90s and was largely responsible for the success of Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

2. I can't decide whether fishing of woorworking is my favorite hobby. For the past year, woodworking has taken the forefront and my boat is lonely. I still have all of my digits, although I almost lost one finger to a table saw and did lose the tip of one thumb. The finger incident won me a free helicopter sightseeing trip from my home in So. MD to the trauma center in Baltimore. I got to wear a headset and talk with the pilot and medics.

3. This is my 3rd marriage. I met my wife in late 1988, at age 59, in an internet chat room for people in their 50s. It was love at first chat (or maybe the 2nd or 3rd chat). She was in Florida and I was in Maryland. I went to Florida 2 months later on Christmas when we met in person. She came to Maryland and we were married in 2000. In 2001, we moved back to Florida. Between us, we have 10 grandchildren.

Bonus factoid: I'm retired and at age 67, I'm still a computer geek. I've worked with computers since 1967 (at the Cape). I build my own PCs...this one is the 3rd that I've put together.
Dale

Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But, that gets boring...so I go back to being me.

Dale... Dang! I'm missing a piece of thumb too. Did it on a printing press though 1980. Woodworking and old cars/motorcycles take most of my time. Don't fish as much as I'd like... finishing the tear may help that. Computer geek since my first "Leading Edge Model D" ... been rolling my own since '94. I'm also a native Floridian.

But, ya got me beat on meeting a great lady on-line... I've tried it a few times... met some nice people. Just not the right one yet. I envy you that success. Congratulations. Darn nice TTT by the way.

And one messy 'puter geek... (been alone a bit too long maybe?)
