Crysler Cirrus Brake Help

Postby Bigwoods » Wed Sep 06, 2006 11:15 pm

I have to drive about 50 miles to my daughters to install new disc brake pads. I don't recall doing a Chrysler myself. I want to take the correct tools.
To remove the caliper bolts are the done with a socket or allen head or a torquer like GM product.

Thought you could help me take the right tools.

Thanks Guys

Thanks for the reply. This is the weirdest deal I have seen in a long time. Mty daughter was drving the car home, thinking it was a worn out disc. Apparently one of the bolts for the caliper had broken. It was the caliper that was rubbing on a the wheel that was making the grinding noise. She made it about 3 miles before the caliper worn through the mag wheel from the inside, blowing the tire on the interstate. She said it only made noise at slow speed and she was going 45 mph. Hiway Patrol gave her a ride home and dealer will fix the car.

Thanks

YOWWW!!!

Glad she got home safe.

I'd be reporting that problem to the factory engineers, too.

Major safety hazard.
