Trac Rack conversions

Hey... I was wondering...... I would like to take the trac rack off my ford ranger...R.I.P.....and put them on the '03' chevy silverado... the bed is 6 feet (compared to the rangers 7') so the rails need to be cut and redrilled for the bolts to line up in the rails...and the racks themself are bolted and can be adjusted the 5" or so...the only thing I think I would need is to order the rubber inserts... the chevy stake holes are 3/4 of an inch bigger.... wil this work? anyone have any experience with this? a brand new set would run me $800 or so......
