Saw Horse Question

I have a couple of those cheap flimsy plastic saw horses. When I first started on my trailer floor a few weeks ago I was trying to lift the ply wood on them by myself. Well the damn things just buckled under and I dropped the wood on my left big toe, missed work the next day!
The question is that I want to build some "real" ones. What is the degree of the angle of the legs??

Look more like bridge supports to me. Those look solid and should last a long time. If you don't have to carry them long distances then the weight isn't a problem.

home despot has metal saw horse brackets that you just slip the wood into and screw it..

I have built several very similar to the one you picture. No angle braces, and used two boards (2x4 or 2x6) on top, leaving the 1.5" gap between them, this provides a wide "workbench" like top. Yes they are heavy and do not fold away for storage, but storage has never been a problem. Just loan them out when you are not using them, if they come back they will not be damaged, if they do not come back, you just get to build a new improved version when you need it..........

Use some 1/4" lag bolts in place of some of those screws and you end up with a very solid platform on which to work.........

I have a pair of Crawford steel folding saw horses from Home Depot. Search for model Model SH38A-16.

I mounted a piece of 2x4 on top of each one. The legs on each end fold together, then both pairs of legs fold up into the top which has a carrying handle on one side. You can carry a pair of them to your work area easily. They are much sturdier than they look in the picture. I had my chassis on them while working on it.
