Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Why

I love all things automotive but I just don't get the reason for a guy putting the time the effort and the money in to reastoring a YUGO. Saw it this weekend. :? Saw a trailer today. Looked like a 4 x8 TSC with a 6 foot diameter galvanized pipe on it with flat ends and a door in the rear and windows on the sides. Wierd.

It's that big a$$ stainless loud muffler. The new auto technology.
It instantly changes any POS econo car into a high performance driving machine.

You gotta admit, no one else will have one. The problem is it's still a POS. Now it's a rare POS.

Restoring the old Japanese cars, Datsun 510, Datsun 2000, Honda Roadster isn't very popular. They were't particularly popular so people didn't keep them around. Now that they are getting hard to find, it is worth finding and restoring one.

I don't have a problem racing Neons. It is a cheap(er) way to get into motorsports. You can get a lot of experience with car control and not risk a lot of cash in the process. If you get good, you can always move up. Before the Neons, they used to race Pintos. Some people have to get a start somewhere, we can't all start at the top of the racing food chain.

They have kits to put V8s into Ford Focus (Foci?). Monster Motorsports used to put V8s into Miatas. It's all for fun.

There is a guy around here that races a Pinto (maybe a Bobcat) and that thing can do a 10 second 1/4 mile.

Call me an old curmudgeon, but I miss the days when men were men and cars were CARS ! As in: 327 Chevy!!! Not these lil' ol' Japanese go-carts that sound like an angry BEE! David [ Although,I admit: I drive a Nissan truck, and Cindy drives a Tracker /Suzuki -- cleverly disguised as a Chevy] :D

Hey now!
I followed the directions on this page
http://www.angelfire.com/nc2/mycoffeecan/page1.html

and put it on my PT Cruiser.......

and now this happens every morning on my way to work.

Gonna be damn hard to keep tires on the PT now with all that extra horsepower.

Check the sound file in the link above to hear how "great" it sounds.

You mean something like this. You say, 'aw it's just a Station Wagon'. Well, under the hood is a 390 High Performance engine (from a '65 T-Bird) tied to a C6 transmission. I have supprised just a few sense I got it in.
