An early Thanksgiving greeting.............

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

An early Thanksgiving greeting.............

Postby b.bodemer » Sun Nov 19, 2006 8:49 am

With my nearly, almost complete, "I could have used one more week of warmer weather" teardrop tucked safely away in my garage, Aunt Barb is heading to NY for a two week visit later today.

There's so much to be thankful for..............I wouldn't even know where to begin............but lets just saying getting to spend this time with my seven nieces and nephews is just priceless.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!

SEVEN?? You sure you don't want to take the trailer with you??? It would be a great retreat for a little peace and quiet.
I had three rugrats here last night for 4 hours. My head's still throbbin'!

Have a good Thanksgiving.

We are pulling our tear to San Francisco to spend a couple weeks with daughter #4 and 3 grandkids.

I am always welcome: I bring tools to make or fix things!

Jane has to work Thanksgiving day so dinner is on me & the Mother-in-law. If I don't get too many objections I'll try my hand at Turkey Mercedes ( a Caribbean makeover) that was printed in USA Weekend. Best wishes to all, Danny

Danny ... is this recipe a drive by turkey meal?

Is that were you get into your Mercedes and jerk the stick into gear and 8)
make believe your are in the warm climate of the Caribbean eating hot spicy turkey?

This daughter's husband is one of the real good guys, but he isn't handy at all. Princeton: Engineering!

Another son in law wants a tear, so I might help him on one soon. Another daughter asked who gets to inherit the tear when I die. Guess I should make a stable of them.

I always wanted to be careful being worth more dead than alive, seems it might be a temptation! With the tear I now have to be nice to everyone!

We'll be doing a duck in the rotisserie...

But has anyone here made Turducken? What is a Turducken? It is a recipe from Chef Paul Prudhomme of New Orleans. Basically, it is a turkey, stuffed with a duck, stuffed with a chicken, layered with three different types of stuffing.

All of you who are traveling,, Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving. Mike brought a 20 pound turkey and all the stuff home so I guess I'm cooking at home. Sure hope there is a crowd.

His only comment was "I want left overs." :D

Heikki,
Ya gotta have left overs. So at least 6 pounds if it is on the bone. :D

If you find a US Military base you will find pumpkin in a can. Just get a soldier to get it for you or ask the nearest Expatriate how to find it. (If you are lucky they will volunteer a pie for you. 8) )

You need cranberry sauce, and smashed potatoes or candied yams or both. (I do both) Green bean casserole and green peas or corn. Yeast based dinner roles and gravy. :D
