What is this?

I pass this old trailer every week. It sits in the back of a very well kept home and yard. Can't understand why they let this old trailer just rust away. Anyone know what it is and how old it would be?

WOW!!!

IT LOOKS LIKE A NAZI HELMET!!!

What's that thing next to it? An outhouse, maybe?

The thing reminds me of of an early 40's Westcraft. It had that shape for the top and the separation from the top and side is almost identical. It has the same rectangular windows. That "German Helmet" front and back, though, I don't know. If I remember right they were made of masonite. Is it because there is a separation of the masonite down the middle of the trailer fron and back and it is starting to curl?

Gage prolly has a picture or two or three of a Westcraft. Can you help, Gage?

I'm sure if the walls could talk, there are quite a few hunting tales and so much more that they could tell. ;)

Looks like a mid to late 30's trailer.

It is similar to a Jim Dandy, or Pierce Arrow, though at that time there were quite a number of "do it yourself" plans available.
Jim Dandy was one, Hammerblow tool company was another.

Though rusted, and rotted, the trailer may well be worth going for, if not to restore, for parts.

Stan, it probably is masonite, but the "curl" in the front is supposed to be there.
The body covers most of the tongue in an attempt to make it more streamlined (Art Deco going on at that time).
Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...

I didn't want to walk into their yard to get a closer look. Ira ,that could be an outhouse. From the road the outside seems to be some sort of metal rusting. I am not interested in it as a project. Just celebrated my 33rd Wedding anniversary and I want to make it to 34. If anyone is interested in it I will tell you where it is if you PM me.
