I built a weekender and want to give it to my son what would it take to hold it down on a trailer ? could I use lag blots through the frame and into the 2x3's I used to make the floor frame or iron straps bolted to the 2x3 front and sides? I made it to see if it was what I wanted and think I will build the benroy for me.it was to be just a mock up but he wants to use it and will not travel very far.

I'd use through bolts. Lags will tend to work loose over time on the road...got a utility trailer with them on it, and it gets way loose and tightening them all the time will want to strip out the material. Just my experience. Doug

I agree, use nuts and bolts with washers to prevent them from pulling out and/or backing out. With lag bolts, the connection is only as strong as the material it is bolted into.

I used 8 bolts on mine.
