Peter Boyle is dead--oh WHY Lord?

Postby Ira » Wed Dec 13, 2006 7:15 pm

The subject of my thread says it all:

Cheney lives, and Peter Boyle is dead.

Explain THAT one to me, without bringing "faith" into the discussion.

It's kinda begs the question "Why is Elvis dead and all the impersonators still alive?" Some questions just have no satisfactory answers.

Peter Boyle was absolutely hilarious. I loved him in Young Franfenstein and Everybody Loves Raymond. Dick Cheney is pretty funny too.
Are we there yet?

If you can explain to me why you libs hate Cheney & Halliburton so much when it was President Clinton who awarded them their LOGCAP (often mistakenly referred to as a "no-bid") contract and it was on Clinton's watch that they made the most profits in their corporate history. Things haven't gone quite so well for them since Cheney stepped down as CEO and Bush took office.

I changed the title of my thread because I realized it was way over the top and I didn't want to offend anyone. I apologize to those that were.

I didn't want to make it a religious thread, more just an expression of my sadness at this, but I screwed up.

Ira, I don't think anyone here is unaware that you're an atheist. If anyone is offended by that, it's their problem, not yours. And though I don't claim to speak for Him, I'm pretty sure God doesn't feel threatened by your challenge of His existence.

"HIS"?? Could it be her's?? What the heck????

Peter was a funny man in the parts he played and hearing interviews from people that were close to him, he was more than that. A regular Joe. I think that is why he was liked by so many.

Whatever. God is a spirit, so just pick one. Andrew M. Greeley drives me nuts because he keeps shifting back and forth between the two.

Ira & All:

The New York Times called Peter Boyle "one of the most successful
character actors of his time." He died Tuesday at the age of 71. Boyle had
roles in many films, including Young Frankenstein and Monster's Ball, and
played the father on the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. His breakthrough
role was the 1970 film Joe, in which he plays a factory worker on a rampage
against hippies and the counterculture

is good enough to be given a square deal afterwards." -------Theodore Roosevelt
