Things that don't fit anywhere else...

What do your kids want for christmas ?

Postby Gerald_G » Fri Dec 15, 2006 2:02 am

I thought this might be a topic for light conversation and a chuckle.

For Christmas, my son requested...

"many flamable powders, including copper chemicals and iron chemicals as well as a private tool shed."

In his defense his current career goal is to be a pyrotechnician and build fireworks displays.

My other son requested...

"another beagle ... to train the dog to be quiet."

They both actually requested a second beagle, but I can't figure out how one dog is going to train the other to be quiet ?

Any humorous requests in your family ?

He'll be a believer for another year.

My daughter wants tickets to the Team Wench Privateer Feast, sales of which support breast cancer research.

Grandkids now.

The question here should be "What don't they want??" The list would be much shorter!! If you've seen it advertised that's what they want. No matter what they get it will be waaaay more than they will ever play with.

If they don't have Ipods yet, then it's a no brainer. Get em Ipods.

If they are too young for Ipods, get em Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys, and Legos so they can build model teardrops.

Sadly, once again, it's mostly electonic game stuff, but at least the list is very short this year.

But for my younger one, he's a big Legos guy still--but you wouldn't BELIEVE what they charge for those little pieces of plastic. I'm also getting him some kind of an art set; he's really into drawing, thankfully.
Here we go again!

Here's a place you can get everything for him. Including directions on making the pyrotechnics. http://www.unitednuclear.com/

I always try to get the kids something that makes them use their own creativity. Legos are one idea but there are others. My daughter is either getting a knitting machine or a toy pottery wheel.

My 22 year old wants a radar detector ( so she can go see her boyfriend at college) Of course clothes, books and movies.

My 18 year old had to be threatened to get a list. Clothes of course, movies, cd's, and scrapbooking materials.

Of course they both get what they want once a year as long as it is in the budget. We don't go over a certain amount. If a boyfriend is coming a gift for him comes out of the girls budget. Funny no boyfriends will be here for Christmas this year...
