Things that don't fit anywhere else...

American Made

I don't know? In 1945 My Dad goes out and with his "Mustaring out Pay" from WWII decides he need a Table Saw. So he blows the whole $140 on a Walker-Turner Saw. Brings it home hooks it up runs it, like it should be..every day, from then till now and everything is fine.

Untill today.

The Keyway flies out of one of the main pulleys and the blade stops spinning but the motors still on.

Well I can't find a Walker-Turner Dealer anywhere. So instead of messing with a warranty Claim I go out and spend MY OWN MONEY, One dollar and eighteen cents and buy a new Keyway.

Why can't anybody build something that will Last?

Whats next! My 1947 Dewalt?

Len-

Having seen both of these old war horses in action (in addition to the ole' war horse that bought 'em) it is an EXCELLENT testament to American ingenuity and lots of CAST IRON!

Some other great old US names in addition to Walker-Turner that were notorious for tons of cast iron and realibility:

Greenlee Tenoners

Maddison Moulders

Stetson Ross Gang Rip Saws

Root Boring Machines

Dodds Dovetailers

Cheers,

Coop

You can't beat the real steel in stuff from that period. The plastics of today are wonderful, but sometimes there's no substitute for mass and bulk. 8)

Len, You and and your dad got more than $140 worth of enjoyment out of the tablesaw. 61 years, darn good. Just fix it do another 60 plus years with it. :applause:

Hope you bought a couple of spare keyways to put back for when they quit making them. ;)
