bg's roadtrip 2007

Postby bg » Thu Jan 11, 2007 6:51 pm

Continuation of this thread.

So, Last years trip to Maryland was a bit rushed, and I missed tons of various stopping points along the way. Unfortunately, due to a tight schedule, I'll be pretty rushed again. 2 days to cover 1100 miles, a 2 day visit in Georgia, then jumping on a plane to head home.

So, does anyone see any problems with the route below? Basically I-20 from Dallas to Atlanta, then I-16 into Savannah.

Sadly, I won't have time for any off-interstate adventures.

Bobby,

Have a good and safe trip.

Have you made any progress on your tear over the holidays?

I've taken that route, lots of rolling hills that can be a pain when towing or driving a u-haul truck. Just beware, Atlanta traffic is pretty bad. Otherwise, it is your standard interstate trip, not much to see from the interstate.

Sadly, No progress, i've been saving up for this trip. Should have some good progress in March and April.

Not towing anything this time, but that is good to know for future trips. I think I'll be hitting Atlanta late enough to not run into too much traffic. Shame there isn't much to see from the interstate.

Try your best not to hit Atl between 4 and 7 p.m. 20 can be a parking lot between those hours.
Good luck

After ATL come the boring part. That trip to Sav is the longest I have ever been on. Absolutly nothing to see and I think there is only one rest stop the whole way.

When you pass exit 116 on I-16 wave I live about three miles south on
301.

I will have to agree with 16 being a boring piece of road I put in about 500 miles a week traveling to work in Savannah.

Have a safe trip

BG,

Are you taking your one man tear on that trip? It's almost done, right? :?

Remember, you said you wouldn't abandon it... :R

I would if it was done. In reality, I haven't touched it in 6 weeks. Christmas rush combined with a prolonged sickness. I'll make some good progress on it in march/april. Should be campable in May.
